Free agents coming from where?
So I am doing a semi-historical league with full minors. Guys are entering the league via a draft in december (guys whose careers start in 1913, appear in the late 1912 draft) and I am playing with the reserve clause era stuff so free agency is really for guys that get released or who are not drafted.
A couple of seasons ago I saw one of the other teams made a free agency signing. I looked at this player (to see if I missed something) and realized this guy did not come into a draft, had his real life history (2-3 years) prior but had not played in this league. Now every year when the season ends I notice about 5-10 guys who have prior baseball experience enter as free agents. They all seem to have 2-3 years of prior experience. The abundance of guys are still entering via the draft. I actually find it interesting to get a chance at some of these free agents but was wondering if anyone else has seen this, or some of the "major leaguers" have any thoughts of why this could be happening. Thanks |

So here is an example. This guys real career began in 1905. But he has appeared as a free agent in 1913. Not sure if maybe the ootp engine is picking up that these guys weren't in the drafts and throwing them in later but not sure if that can actually happen.. Thoughts?

When you start a league with minors enabled any active player on any team in any league will be imported. If the players real life league and team did not make the OOTP cut they will be found on the free agent list.
