It is indeed 400 for 30/30. I've had both George Sisler and Cesar Cedeno get SO CLOSE to 40/40 status, but neither has gotten there yet. As their teams have promoted in levels, they fall consistently farther from it too

I had Howard Johnson go 40/40, and he was extremely close to 50/50. Needed a homer or two. Would have been showering in PP I'm sure, was disappointed.

Only 400? That seems really low given the rarity of it. The same points as a Koufax shutout? Should be worth thousands

B'sin'Glou are 53-67, 2 games above the relegation zone in our 20-team league.
My 5th starter is also set up to be a follower from time to time but I notice he's more often used in normal relief than in other of the either two roles. That doesn't seem right, does it?

My starter set as a follower has only been called in for relief in long extra inning games, never seen it as a regular occurance

I do no set use starters in relief. I don't have a set opener. Perhaps that's the issue. Him being used in relief means I'm basically running a 4-man rotation with starting pitchers who don't have the stamina to cope.

You need to set an opener, leave the use starters in relief set to no. My biggest success is using a lefty opener with a righty follower to mess up opposing lineups

But then again, we shouldn't be surprised, I suppose. We don't even have a Ken Williams, the OG 30/30 man, in this game yet.

Paragon City Heroes went into the last week of June 29-45, and looking at the basement, they are now 69-64 (despite losing their last 3 games) and sit in a WC place. Bought in SE Belanger and moved Ozzie to 2B to replace Lemahieu, also bough peak Clemente and he failed to impress, the last month's schedule is brutal (4 games against by far the best team in the league, 6 others against division leaders 12 games against teams within 1 1/2 games of the WC spot)
(Edit: Sold Clemente, bought Buck O'Neil and Kirby Puckett, brought Brantley from reserves for a lefty backup role, replacing Acuna, O'Neil replaces Freeman's .620 OPS, how will i ever survive) Bad News Bulldogs put together the best month I've ever had. After slipping out of 1st place for one day before the ASG they have gone on a tear, 20-6 in August to open up a 13 1/2 game gap at 89-45. Robinson continues to drive runs in (95) Davis continues to hit and run (21HR,60SB) and whiff (195K). The team as a whole is just doing everything well this season Luckily the Neuman Furshlugginers are just a fun team to try stuff on (that's my excuse) so 61-74 isn't entirely unexpected and depite being no1 in the league in runs scored we have a negative run differential. We are currently headed back down to the bronze league, hiow many teams have been top in runs scored and been relegated?

Roger Clemens Pitches Perfect Game
After throwing a no-hitter last week in 2039 Season, Roger Clemens bests that performance by throwing a Perfect Game in 2040 Season!

Your team looks good enough to take the 407 NC. My biggest hurdle is the Poets in the 407 AC.
Hope to see in the 407 World Series to avenge the Gold title you took from me.

Good luck against those Poets. It would be a tough series against either one of you. |

Haven't been following things too closely the last two weeks. Fighting Saints are in a drag out fight with the Malibu Waverunners who have very good pitching staff.
I have a 2 game lead with a magic number of 16. I am not in the least confident as they are a helluva team.

Bad News Bulldogs have already made the playoffs at 99-46 after a 18-1 run in the last 19, shaping up to be my best season ever (inb4 1st round playoff exit)

The Topeka Bombers are 83-64 in Diamond. Currently a whopping 36.5 games out of first place. The first place team is loaded with perfects/high historical diamonds so that's going to be fun in the playoffs. I have added SE Lenny Dysktra to the OF. Also just added the 89 Eckersley so my bullpen got a big boost. Sitting 1st in all defensive categories, top 5 in offense categories, and top 5 in pitching categories. Will see how the playoffs go.
The Kansas City Legends are sitting in second in the silver league. Currently holding a 1/2 game lead on the wild card spot. A couple of the new KC Collections have helped out. John Mayberry is doing quite well offensively. Hal McRae with 80 contact is a decent DH for this team. Just need 1 more card to complete the last Royals collection and I'll add Wade Davis, LoCain and the new Sabes to the team. My newest team is in the entry pool. It's going to be a packs only team. It recently pulled the 88 Pudge who has been doing quite well. Outside of that, 71 Chris Collabello and 87 Ray Lankford are probably the best players on the team. Will see how it goes. Just wanted a fun team to play with it in addition my theme team.

B'sin'Glou are 70-81, but did have a mammoth 28-4 win earlier in the month. Jeff Bagwell scored 6 runs and plated 8 runners (4 via Grand Slam) for a personal tally of 3420 PP. All up we took home 7100 PP.
Also, yesterday I parted ways with All Star Trout, exchanging him for Live Trout. I had already picked up all the other Angels live cards, so finished off that collection. Dean Chance is a nice add to my rotation and I pulled Victor Robles in the Gold Pack. Not that there's a spot for him on my roster at the moment, but this offseason I might think about a reshuffle so I can get him in as my primary backup outfielder and pinch-runner. With the leftover PP I completed the Taiwan players mission. Hong-Chih Kuo is a great bullpen upgrade. I completed a couple other smaller missions too, as well as added some cards for other missions. This morning I finished off the Orioles Live mission. The gold card from that pack was Willis Hudlin, who doesn't fit my pitching needs at all (47stuff ain't gonna cut it with my defense, even if he has a 90 movement). But I also pulled Live Syndergaard, who is now my new follower. Now to see what other missions I can tick off!

Accountants are almost eliminated, eight games under .500. That is what you get for buying cards for many coins and then have them do less than a lick.
The Rebs are 74-75, tied with the Pittsburgh Rebels, which perversely ties those two teams for first place. A wild card is not in play. The two teams will face off in the final series of the year (but then I will be fast asnooze). The Coons have reliably sunken into irrelevancy again, 70-78. Can't get any better personnel, no luck of the draw, no nothing. But that they were 35-19 in late May and then heinously collapsed to a tune of .372 irks me greatly. Sell off everybody, move to a farm in Wyoming...

P405 Update
It's a tale of dominance--only one division has not yet been decided, and not unrelated, it's the only division in which the leader has a lead of fewer than 18 games!--and Wild Card madness--the AC currently has a 3-way tie for the 2 WC spots, while the NC has a 3-way tie for the second Wild Card spot!
Also, after the amazing 39-game hitting streak by Naperville's Rod Carew that I mentioned earlier in this thread, Team To Be Determined's Ty Cobb went and had himself a 33-game hitting streak. I don't think I've ever seen two 30-game hitting streaks in a single Perfect League season, so that was fun. I will be at Wizard World Chicago (really, Rosemont) tomorrow and so will be away for much of the playoffs. Good luck to all involved! Well, except those who are playing the Red Raiders.
