Season 27 (2045) Discussion Thread
My turn!
It looks like the Raccoons are going to have a whale of a time this season. Many of these whales are the same ones from a few seasons back. Well, we are improved now and there seems to be fewer of them so maybe we have a chance. Our division will be tough, but winnable so we might have a chance at making the playoffs this time around.

I just lost World Series game 7 last night after my closer blew a 2-run lead in the top of the 9th. It just wasn't meant to be. I'm going to try to stay in Perfect and at least play around .500 ball and make acquisitions to try to win tournaments instead. I'm hoping they will come into existence soon!

Topeka Defenders: Coming off the first season back in Perfect and finishing 86-76, they're looking to build on that. 100 Johan needs to improve over his 50 innings worth of debut last season were he compiled an atrocious 5+ ERA. 96 Saberhagen is looking to build on his ERA and Win Crowns winning season. SE Sisler hopes to pick up where he left off after he won the BA title on his way to a 5.9 WAR season. Main changes to the team include swapping the 89 Boggs to the 87, and bringing back Boudreau and Sutter from the AH listings.
Missouri Legends: After a couple of disappointing seasons, the team has been been changed just a bit. Nothing major, but made sure all my player strategies matched up with the player type and team philosophy. Did bring in Curt Flood to give him another chance in the OF. Really hoping my SE Amos Otis sells so I can use that PP to finish up my Royals collection and earn the 96 Saberhagen, Wade Davis and LoCain. Would be some much needed firepower for this team. Kansas Rangers: After losing in the CS of the Bronze Playoffs, we're into Silver. Will be interesting to see how we fair. 100 Gibson will have a full season to show what he can do as Mark Prior builds on last season. Again, I made sure my player strategies all matched the players strengths and the team philosophy. Will be interesting season in Silver. Good luck all!

Ugh....I'm 3 for 3 in making the playoffs in my first 3 seasons but it has been a slow progression of winning in the post season. Every year I have made it one step further in the playoffs but keep coming up short.
I've been moved up to Bronze league now for my 4th season....might be a bit more competition.

Singapore Sluggers in the house here. I have been silently reading JasonC23's after action reports these many past weeks (with much pleasure). I couldn't help suppress a big smile when I saw my new league this week. I am thrilled to say that my good buddies, the Huntley Red Raiders, are not only in my league again; they are also in my conference. And to top it off, they are again in my division! I'm looking forward to another year of our rivalry! Best of luck this year!

Dolphins are in P.408 this week, one of those wonky 20 team leagues. The stiffest competition is likely to be with division rival, Interstate 80 Defenders, fresh off their 3rd PL championship. The Defenders, true to their name, appear to be a defensive powerhouse.

My all-Indians team is back for a second shot in the big leagues. My goal is to stick around for at least 3 seasons this time before I get exposed as a fraud.
We've made a few new additions which helped us win a diamond league title last season. They include: SE 100 Boudreau SE 96 Lemon SE 96 Colavito POTM 93 Bieber I'm glad to be back |

Be curious to see how 96 Lemon does in Perfect because he was an absolute beast in Gold for me last season.

Well, I was hoping for an easier slate of teams upon the Boppers return to perfect.
Edmonton Snowplows in my conference, Budapest Red Devils megawhale team in my division...Scottsdale Scorpions and LG Twins on the other side. Best hope for Blitzkrieg is a wildcard, or at least a .500 season. Big oof. |

The Colonels share a division with another tough team this week. The Orlando Calrissians have a .725 win pct., 3 PL titles, and a nice roster. We will need to be at our best all season to win the division again, and that is a really important goal. That one-and-done game is to be avoided at all costs.
I am still struggling with my outfield alignment. Every set of options has pluses and minuses. I am opening the season with: vs. RHP: LF Charleston, CF DiMaggio, RF Mantle vs. LHP: LF Aaron, CF Mays, RF DiMaggio I bet it doesn't stay that way for more than a day. I wish I could settle on three guys or even four but the platooning advantage is just too strong to ignore. |

Paragon City Heroes have undergone sweeping changes to the lineup, SE Garciaparra is learning to play 1B, Trammell 2B, Belanger slots in at SS and Gregg Jefferies (because he does so well on one of my other teams) at 3B. Rocky Colavito at RF and the big money (for me) SE George Sisler comes in to DH
Bad News Bulldogs make just the one change, Carew comes in at DH, moving Duffy to LF and Rose to 1B, Thome goes to the AH No changes for Neuman Furshlugginers, other than shuffling around some of the inactive/reserves for backup purposes

Looks like I'll be in the same division as you oldtimer. Gotta say I think we have the easiest of the 3 division in our conference, so we'll see how things end up. I missed the playoffs by 2 games last year, lost game 162 to the division leader after taking the previous 3 and almost making up a 4 game deficit with 4 to play. Good luck this season!

P445, apologies for potato quality pic, current laptop isn't the greatest. 32 PL titles in AC, the other 8 are paired together in NC Central.

mine did ok last season, in 22 starts he had a 2.63 ERA but only went 8-8 due to my bullpen and offence

P411: Featuring Best Friends Huntley and Singapore
P411 is actually a pretty top-heavy league. The AC East is home to the 3-time Perfect League champs Bludhaven Robins and the 1-time Perfect League champ Vlad News Bears. The AC Central features your 3-time Perfect League champs Huntley Red Raiders and some other team that is totally brand new to me but seems to have done well for itself over the years... And the AC West plays host to the 6-time Perfect League champs Pine Tar Pirates. No easy paths to the Perfect League Series for any AC team. Yeah, that's right, ANY AC team.
But don't count out the NC! In the NC East is the 4-time Perfect League champs Seattle Tempest, who, I seem to recall, back in 2030, after defeating Huntley in the Wild Card game, knocked off some upstart team in the Division Series. What team was that, again? Hmm... The NC West is the home of the 1-time Perfect League champ Georgia Bullquogs. And while the NC Central is the only division without a former Perfect League champion in it, 3 of its members have won at least 1 Diamond League championship: the Brooklyn Blasters (2-time Diamond champs), La Poc Wisigoths, and Seattle Flying Turtles (3-time Diamond champs). So, good luck to nearly everyone in P411!

Welp, so far in the division with my father and I and oldtimer, the three of us are out to solid starts all with at least 10 wins through 19 games, oldtimer is currently on top but its close. Going by run differential though he should be WAY ahead so realistically I'm looking at a WC fight against my dad, which will be quite amusing.
