Would you do this trade, and is it fair?
I changed my settings to trade difficulty=normal, and heavily favor prospects. So here it goes: (this trade is accepted BTW,,,please state if you think I should up the difficulty to hard as a result)
I give Rollins and Adams in exchange for Crisp. Last edited by PSUColonel; 10-29-2013 at 07:59 PM. |

Based purely on the stats I see, looks like you get the better end of the deal. Getting rid of Adams looks like addition by subtraction. Not one-sided, though, if Rollins still has a few good years left. One trade like that is not enough to up the difficulty, IMO. Several, however...

You mean Adams?
Looks good to me. Same age and salary. Does LA need a SS?

If they can replace Crisp with a decent OF it's a good deal. Rollins is still a good SS and will increase tickets and Adams is ok. I say it's a good deal for both sides.

Looks to me like LA is banking on Adams returning to form next year, and trying to bolster their IF. If I was the GM of LA and had a suitable replacement OF for Crisp available on the bench, I would make this deal in a heartbeat. As has been said, it seems pretty good for both sides.

It looks like Adams problems may not be all him.
.389 BABIP, who is playing behind this guy. or did he get a visit from The Cooler. Move aging Coco for a quality? SS and a MR whose luck and team have wrecked his career line? Depending on contract length I would do this as the Dodgers. Especially if SS is an organizational weakness and/or no quality FA in next class and/or are extremely expensive.

Who else do you have to play SS? I dont have Adams in my league in 2016. Rollins and Crisp are both retired, so are you doing this long term or short term?

Short term. I fools around a little more though and was able to get them to accept Adams and Kendrick for Crisp. I did have Galvis to play ss but it let got hurt for a couple if weeks, so I need him now at 2b. Kendrick was my number 5 starter, but I have a very deep pitching rotation.

12/59 BB/K in 46 innings with a .390 BABIP, and good ratings as well. His ERA is in the 5s, bet you anything his FIP is in the mid 3s. This is someone I'd be targetting as a super buy low candidate if I were a team in need of a reliever.

Meh, his ERA, WHIP, and W-L all suck on toast. K/BB is good, granted, but the rest is bad enough for me to stay away, and there are usually better relievers than that in the minors, in my experience...of course, I'm not as into the Moneyball/SABR stuff as some people are. Plus, he mentioned that his pitching was pretty deep, so Adams looks expendable to me in that case.

Depends on how big their contracts are. Crisp has been vastly outperforming Rollins and Adams (2.4 WAR to a combined 1.0 WAR). Rollins and Adams are also being paid pretty high salaries so you are getting rid of aging, overpaid veterans. I like your side better but I've seen worse deals in OOTP. Much, much worse.

I can see Adams bouncing right back next year, no problem. Either way, seems like a good deal for both sides. Last edited by Fyrestorm3; 10-31-2013 at 03:33 PM. |

Yep. Has me thinking I may return to Normal for the next iteration of my league. Hard just becomes way too hard, IMHO, while the AI continues to do whatever it likes.
