Did the influx of Diamonds from the sale effect the drop rate

It would seem to me that the introduction of those diamonds into the ecosystem would have to have lowered the drop rate for them in standard packs. Or is my grasp of statistics uninformed

It would lower the drop rate for each individual diamond card, but not diamond cards overall. You are just as likely to get a diamond card as always, it is just less likely you will get a specific diamond because there are more of them.

I can confirm the rate is the same. I get the same amount of 4 Irons and 2 Bronzes packs as I was getting prior to the sale, so there's nothing to see here !

I actually got a historical bronze today from a challenge mode pack. Worth 35 PP instead of 25.

Going by the title of this thread, no.

-Pack drops don't change
-The amount of a certain card level on the AH doesn't affect packs

As people have already said, the only thing that will affect drops is the base number of cards at a certain level, which will affect the drop rate of each specific card .

I apologize for being dense, but why would the drop rate of any specific card be affected by other iterations of that card? Wouldn't this mean that newly introduced cards would have significantly higher drop rates than the golden oldies (or, well, diamond oldies in this case )?

Drop rates only change for individual cards if the total cards which can be pulled from packs increase. The more cards there are (right now we're close to 4,000) the lower the odds of pulling one specific card in a pack.

Think original op is thinking of a lottery system resembling scratchoffs, with a fixed number of "winners" spread out over n convenience stores and gas stations.

Not impossible, I suppose. But unnecessarily complex from the coder's end.
