signing minor league FA's

It would be nice if each time you signed a player, they would go to DFA rather than having the AI attempt to assign them to a level of minors that has an opening....as a result I must demote the player, which automatically affects his morale.

I think he'll be peeved, regardless, if he is assigned to a level lower than he thinks he should be in......and an upset player is no big deal......really only makes a difference when you are wanting to sign him to an extension......

yes, it's a little thing, but all of these little things add up to a more polished product.

i've had cases where the player was upset of being in AAA. not sure where else in minors he was expecting to go...

true...but I just feel any player coming into an organization should automatically go to DFA, and then be assigned accordingly. It will spare morale issues, and is just a more uniform and neat way of doing things.

all of my MiLB teams have 25 active players on the rosters at all times, so whenever I might sign a FA to a minor-league deal, he will always be assigned to Rookie Ball, then re-assigned accordingly.
