Chasing Barry Bonds, Calvin Mitchell's historic season

In year 2024, Calvin Mitchell of Baltimore took another step forward in his crazy evolution. His contact rose from 75 to 80 and his power rose from 65/80 to 80/80. He went on to have a historic season, on pace to break Bond's all time HR record for most of the season. And when he was sitting at 72 with one game left in regular season and Baltimore secured in the playoff, he was BENCHED for the last game!!!!
Don't know if he or anyone will have a shot anytime soon. But still, an MLB triple crown season (won batting & HR title easily and edged out my Guerrero Jr, Tellez by 1RBI), broke the all time single season total bases record (Ruth 457) with 485, 8th all time with 12.8 WAR (most since Ruth in 1923).
Has anyone seen Bonds' HR record broken?

Holy crap. Guess I need to try to trade for that guy in season 1 .

In last year's version, Joey Gallo turned into a monster in my first go at things. That was my first ever time playing the game, so I left all settings alone, and in 2019 he exploded with a 79 homer season. He followed that up with 60, 61, and 56 homer years. Think he hit the 110th percentile of his abilities. From his age 21-30 seasons, he averaged 57 HR/162 games .

Never seen anything else like that since. Also attached the league leaders, he was so far and away above everybody else in HR and RBI, it's without fathom.

Wow, how did Gallo hit over .300 that year. Is he in decline now, could have a good shot at all time total HR. Tellez also turned out great in my save, constantly hitting 50 HRs and had 60HR 162RBI that same year, overshadowed by Mitchell though.

Well, doing some quick math, his babip was about .350 that year, which is really high. Throw the homeruns back in, and he batted almost .500 on balls he actually hit. Still struck out 28% of the time. Pretty much must have had the perfect storm of dice rolls going his way.

I was watching an old episode of Nash Bridges on the CBS app last night and Don Johnson and Cheech Marin were dealing with this superstitious skinny handsome black Giants team member who had a normal size head. I was amazed to realize it was pre-steroids Barry Bonds.
