Best Bronze and Silver cards in PT2.0 thread
For us free to play people, can we get some advice from the experts on the best Bronze and Silver cards in OOTP20. There was one of these for 19 and it helped. Ill even take Irons if they are worth it.
Ill start with one. Mike Pagnozzi C Stl....great catching ability for the Ovr rating. |

First of all, I'm not really seeing any Ichiro, Dierker, Barker, Simmons type of cheap cards like in 19.
So far I really like this one, but it's around 1300 on AH so far. Eventually, he'll be my backup OF. Love the defense. |

1984 Tony Gwynn is a pretty solid little card for a Bronze.

Oh, and 1987 Mike Lavalliere is another guy who is a low Silver but has stellar D and should get on base enough to be useful as your main catcher in lower leagues and a decent backup as you get higher.

I really like Paul LoDuca as a backup C, he's a 65. I'm at work so I can't post the card but he did well for me in entry pool play and he has great D (for what seems like watered down catcher defense in v20) and a not too awful bat to go along with it.

This card will probably become my backup IF someday. Great defense and speed. Not bad hitting.

You can get a lot of value from some of the iron/bronze pitchers that are on the fringe between SP and RP. I'm finding some RP's are better suited to start and some SP's are better out of the pen. An example is 65 Luis Gohara, listed as a SP but has been pitching well out of the pen for me.
Maybe there are also silver/gold guys in same scenario; just haven't really looked because I'm hoarding PP until live updates, collections and tournaments come and I can get the real pulse of the game mode. Last edited by neugey; 03-26-2019 at 12:07 PM. |

yes can confirm. underrated card and will turn into a 1000 PP card when more ppl get ahold of it. ran it on one team and very happy with results. mike matheny and tom pagnozzi are also very good defensive catchers at bronze level. but they can't hit. |

Larry Bowa SS 67 bronze is a good small-ball switch-hitting defensive card, can be trained to over 100 for 3B/2B. Above average speed (64), steal (80) & baserunning (60) as well.

The single most unique thing about him is that he is a lefty, making him a rare plus-Defense platoon option

Can confirm.
He might be PT 2.0's Ichiro. 64OVR David Eckstein is a decent cheap pickup as backup IF, too.

Terrible defense, but extremely good contact and fairly cheap on the market compared to the bronze Gwynn:
