Getting Fired?
A Lenient-patience owner just fired me.
65 games into the season. When I was two games back. And I had won the pennant 3 times in a row. What kind of dubious firings have you had happen to you? |

In a historical league I was fired 3 times one season. After about 90 games with the White Stockings, then again after 35 games with Cleveland then again after the season after a 7-9 record with Boston Red stockings. This was on 11.

I have no story to tell from OOTP, but the thread title reminds me of a card I once saw years ago, for folks who hated their job. On the cover it said the following: "Fired or not getting fired—which is worse?"

Ran the Rockies for 10 years, best team in the league, 95 to 100 wins a year, 3 championships. Year 11, projected to win it all and the injury bug bites hard and half my starters go down in spring training. I start off the year 19-25 with a triple a lineup and get fired just as my stars are returning. Of course, the new GM takes over and the team plays .650 ball the rest of the way to make the playoffs. I was very happy to see them implode two years later after a string of bad trades while I took the Mariners to their first playoff appearance in a decade.
