Baseball Card Customizable %Tokens
Just as I have been inspired in the past by the work of so many of you on this board, BMW's newest release of his '74 Topps Card Template has again brought me to the point of wanting to be able to contribute potentially with my own set(s) of cards in the future.
While I am FAR from a seasoned vet when it comes to XML, I have been able to "crack/find" some of the customizable tokens for cards and felt like a thread that listed all of the tokens that can be used would be a great database for any future card creator or designer. Below is a list of available tokens that I have been able to find/use up to this point, if any other OOTPer's have additional tokens this would be a great place to share and get the most out of the card feature. BASEBALL CARD TOKENS: GENERAL Token Result Example %Year Year 2010 %TEAM_NAME City Arizona %TEAM_NICK Team Nickname Diamondbacks %PERSON_FIRST_NAME First Name Jeff %PERSON_LAST_NAME Last Name Weaver %POSITION Position Pitcher %UNIFORM_NUMBER Uniform Number 11 %PERSON_NAME Full Name Jeff Weaver %LEAGUE_NAME League Name Major League Baseball %AGE Player Age 24 %POSITION_SHORT - for position abbreviation (P, LF, etc). This should be stickied, too valuable to get washed away in the shuffle.
That being said, I would like to know if a team's hex colors are a %token. EDIT: Looking at BMW's awesome work, we've got "trialpha_red" "trialpha_blue" & "trialpha_green" with tags [%TEAM_TEXT_COLOR] and [%TEAM_BG_COLOR] Last edited by ry1220; 07-15-2010 at 06:52 PM. |

%TEAM_TEXT_COLOR
%TEAM_BG_COLOR %DATE - He used this when adding the line in for when the player was elected to the Hall of Fame or All-Star Game. I thought it was a nice touch! I also can see now how cards like the 1973 & 1976 Topps cards can be replicated properly (with the correct player silhouettes by position)... Can't wait to give this a shot!

I'm actually writing a how to guide, which will include all the information. I'm hoping within the next week. I've already started it, which is important, as I'm sure everyone's had those "I'll get to it" things where the biggest hurdle is just starting the blasted thing.

I got overwhelmed by work the last few days, but I am now 75% - 80% done. About 16 pages worth so far. If all goes well, it could be done tomorrow.

Found two more...
[%LEAGUE_TEXT_COLOR]
[%LEAGUE_BG_COLOR] These work great for All-Star and potentially hall of fame cards. Unfortunately I can't find a way for the Subleague logos or colors to show. |
