Don't say that. Sketchup is very intuitive, and there is plenty of help available. You can get started, and you'll be surprised how short the learning curve can be.

this thread is really impressive work. makes me look forward to the 3D look. if this is put in right, in 2 years we could get 3D gameplay that looks like FM and OOTP would be simply impossible to ever turn off

here is more or less a finished product structure wise. I'm not going to spend a whole of time on the detail yet as I want to see how the game handles the stadiums first.
Already started working on another of my fictional team's stadiums

What's the name of this stadium? Every stadium must have a name.

The prototype silvam creation, yes, it will need something for posterity. What's it going to be, sil'? It has to be monumental.

What the heck, I'll just keep posting my work as I value feedback
Here are the bones of my Atlanta Flames' Stadium I used a better technique for the stands and upper deck here

silvam14,
Fun, isn't it? You're doing a great job showing us some great ballparks. A couple of feedback points... Did you make the diamond as a group and copy/paste it into this new park? Also, depending on which direction you extruded, the inside face might end up on the visible side, so make sure to check that as you extrude. Again, awesome job! |

As an example of orienting the faces properly, the image below is a sample of what I was referring to.

I see what you are saying about the faces, but I don't know how to go about fixing it. If I click on a gray face for instance, I select "reverse faces" and it turns it white. What does that accomplish exactly? Also, some of the color differences in the faces are a result of the position of the sun, so when I rotate the model, the colors change

Lookin good! I encourage everybody to start trying! I haven't yet, but plan to once 15 is here, and I can just find time to get into it. I am not much of an artist, but, we'll see...nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Sketch up help
Thanks. My problem isn't getting the stadium walls and field together, it's coming up with different ideas for the stands config, and the back and around the stadium. It's a lot of detail to try and keep the stadiums unique that I'm not sure I have the ability to do yet. We will see I guess. I have a feeling I'll be adding things here and there as I go so my stadiums will probably never be "finished" products.
