A Lyle Overbay homerun during a tie game gave the Yankees the edge they needed to down the Blue Jays 4-3. Toronto got the tying run on base in the 9th but Henry Blanco hit into a double play after a very questionable pinch-hitting decision by Gibbons. WP - David Phelps (1-1) Save - Joba Chamberlain (1) LP - Mark Buehrle (3-3) Record - 19-25 |

Once again the Jays just can't get it done. After coming back to tie the game in the 8th they turned to Casey Janssen in the 9th, who gave up a lead-off double followed by a cheap single that cost them the game. Jose Bautista got his 13th homer. WP - Joel Peralta (2-1) Save - Fernando Rodney (9) LP - Casey Janssen (0-3) Record - 19-26 They are starting to play like the real Jays. |

The Blue Jays dropped their 6th in a row as the Rays blasted them 7-1. Anthony Gose's range in left seemed to be a real detriment as the Rays hit it to him over and over with many balls falling in front of him or over his head. Nice arm though. WP - Jeremy Hellickson (4-4) LP - Justin Germano (1-3) Record - 19-27 |

Of all the ways to lose... after coming back to tie the game in the 9th, Casey Janssen gave up a one out double to Wil Myers and then, while pitching to Kelly Johnson he uncorked TWO wild pitches to give the Rays the run and the 4-3 win. WP - Fernando Rodney (2-0) LP - Casey Janssen (0-4) Record - 19-28 |

The Blue Jays broke their losing streak, beating the Orioles 7-4. Josh Johnson struck out 12 but in the 9th he complained of a sore back and had to leave the game. It is expected that he will miss his next start. Henry Blanco also left the game after legging out an unlikely triple. He is expected to miss a few days. It was big power day for Toronto as Jose Reyes hit his first two homers of the season. Melky Cabrera and Brett Lawrie also went deep. WP - Josh Johnson (4-4) Save - Jeremy Jeffress (2) LP - Wei-Yin Chen (3-5) Record - 20-28 Last edited by rpriske; 05-14-2013 at 09:37 AM. |

Mark Buehrle saw the win slip away from him as Steve Delabar gave a game tying double to Nick Markakis, but Adam Lind followed by hitting a solo shot out to make sure Toronto still got the nod. Casey Janssen walked his first batter of the season to start off the ninth but then struck out the next three to earn his 11th save. WP - Steve Delabar (1-0) Save - Casey Janssen (11) LP - Luis Ayala (0-3) Record - 21-28 |

In a season where it didn't feel like things could get worse, a 7-3 loss to the Orioles comes second to the news from the trainer's room. After hitting out two homeruns, Jose Bautista injured himself on a defensive play in right. He tore the ligaments in his ankle and is expected to be out for 5-6 weeks. WP - Steve Johnson (3-2) Save - Stuart Pomeranz (1) LP - Justin Germano (1-4) Record - 21-30 |

This game was ugly. As if the 13-4 loss to the Braves wasn't bad enough there was also an incident with the Jays taking exception to the Braves stealing bases when up by 8 runs late. We will see if it carries over into the future. WP - Tim Hudson (5-3) LP - Brandon Morrow (4-6) Record - 21-31 |

Mark Buehrle asking for a trade may have motivated him to make himself an attractive target as he pitched a nice game... but it was the Jays bats - especially J.P. Arencibia - who won this one, beating the Braves 10-2. J.P. hit two homers, including a grand slam. Mark DeRosa also went deep for Toronto. WP - Marl Buehrle (4-3) LP - Julio Teheren (4-3) Record - 22-31 |

It is weird. I run two Dynasties, this one and one I started in '77 that is now in '79.
The expansion team has been, of course, terrible. So I went into this season expecting big things from my 2013 team and very little from my 1979 team. The '79 team is 3 games above .500 and in second place in the old AL East. And the '13 team is this one... bad and getting worse every day. I haven't decided yet if I am going to make wholesale changes... which would start with Janssen and Buehrle. My general attitude is 'if you don't want to play here, I'll get someone who does...' |
