Mark Buehrle looked sharp after his recent medical problems.

WP - Tom Wilhelmsen (2-0)

WP - J.A. Happ (3-3)
Save - Jeremy Jeffress (1)
LP - Roy Oswalt (0-4)

Justin Germano has heard the rumours, that the Blue Jays are shopping for another starting pitcher, and he is making his case that he deserves to stay in the rotation. He went 8.2 innings, leaving with a 5-2 lead and a man on. Casey Janssen gave up a homer to ex-Jay Kelly Johnson to bring it within one but then struck out Shelley Duncan to grab the save.

Brett Lawrie went 2 for 3 while walking twice and got his first homerun of the season.

WP - Justin Germano (1-2)
Save - Casey Janssen (7)
LP - Jeff Neimann (2-1)

Record - 16-18

A sudden flurry of homeruns turned this tight pitcher's duel into an even tighter late game. Casey Janssen was up to the task as he pitched a 1-2-3 9th for the save as Toronto beat Tampa Bay 6-5.

Brett Lawrie & Maicer Izturis each hit their 2nd homers of the season while Jose Bautista got his 8th.

WP - Mark Buehrle (3-2)
Save - Casey Janssen (8)
LP - David Price (1-5)

Record - 17-18

J.A. Happ was sent down to AAA and Joel Carreno was called up.

It is expected that this will be a brief exchange.

The Blue Jays hold on the top the Red Sox 7-6. Toronto got to an early lead thanks to homeruns by Adam Lind and Lance Zawadzki, but after Josh Johnson left the game, his fine performance almost went to waster as Michael Schwimer couldn't hold it. Steve Delabar and Casey Janssen stopped the bleeding, however, and Toronto got the win.

WP - Josh Johnson (3-3)
Save - Casey Jannsen (9)
LP - Clay Buchholz (1-4)

Record - 18-21

Given the current real-world standings (through games of May 3), I'd say OOTP's predictions are looking rather prescient!

TRADE

Sent to the Cubs: Maicer Izturis

Toronto receives: Darwin Barney

Barney is assigned to AAA.

Jose Reyes activated from the DL.

Much like a couple of earlier trades this season, I am trading for options. I needed the roster space and Barney can go to Buffalo. I saved a bit of money as well.
