Do players on minor league contracts affect fan interest?

If I sign an extremely popular player to a minor league deal, will that boost my fan interest? If I lose one, will it hurt?

Haven't see that specifically however I'd say not. If I let a popular player leave by free agency I've seen an interest hit if he signs a major league contract but none if he signs a minor league contract. Also it seems that departing FAs who sign with another team after the season starts have no effect.
