Just an IQ test for the AI...

Challenge Mode—decided to push the limit on an offer. Offered it my 1,2,4,5,&6 (had already traded my 3) with 4 star quality players (2b, cf, 2 SP) retaining 100% of salaries for the #1 pick overall.
"This is the worst offer..." Blah, blah, blah. Seems to me like the AI is missing it's I. I guess when you go 57-105 and are flat broke, you know the game well. I went 92-70. WTH do I know? .

Actually, I'm enjoying the heck out of challenge mode...but some days I just have to shake my head.

There are many reasons for this. Owner has tight pockets would be one of them. Are they rebuilding? Do they like youth over vets that sort of thing.

It's the 1970 Padres

That probably explains quite a bit right there. I guess I should give it high marks for realism, and hope that they draft Winfield?

Tips on draft pick trading? Make a ton of tiny trades. You need to increase the quality of your first round pick before trying to get the #1 overall. First, trade for the first round pick right below yours. Rinse and repeat until you're around the 3rd or 4th overall 1st round pick and then trade for the number 1 overall.

Sounds intriguing. I've not tried that approach. Like my "namesake", I usually take the "Out of my way, Icewagon," method.

I'd be curious to know it they would accept the trade for the player drafted with their 1st pick after the draft is done...

+1 on this, very effective method! It may offend the baseball purist but it works!

They did not, because I did not extend an offer...after I saw their choice.
