Free agent contracts
Man there are some ridiculous contracts given out. Cabrera got just shy of 40 mill PER YEAR for 8 years. Justin Upton got 40 mill a year for 4 years after hitting 22 homeruns and going a little over .300.

I was forced to sign an ace starting pitcher (think 20 wins, sub-1.75 ERA) for $37.5M for 2 years once. The next year, I re-signed him for $26M for 3 years.

I hear ya on Caberra for he will be entering 2 years of team options of 35.5 million. I am in season 2021 late august and I will be doing some tweek work to see who I can use to replace him if able so I can decline the team option.
some players are rated as greedy LOL |

You can help control those contracts by reducing the amount of money teams make. If too much cash is floating around the AI will use it. I usually lower the ticket prices and the tv contracts.

never thought about it that way and yes what you said makes much sense too ... I would love to see the ball park attendance figures be updated a bit since it doesn't take into account of how well the team is doing and season ticket holders ..... the attendance is only based on who showed up NOT on how many sold. could say more.
