Creating select teams

Am considering buying OOTP 20. I like to create teams of city franchises from a group of years. Example: Group Yrs 1961-1964. Is it relatively easy to select players from this 4 yr period? For example Detroit Tigers I would want 61 Colavito / 63 Kaline / 62 Aguirre / etc. Would do this for all particular franchises within that 4 yr period. So there would be about these 20 created teams. Going back to original question, is this feasible and is there a section of the manual describing how to do this? Am more interested in replay of these all-star franchises.

Basically start custom game.

Release all players.

Edit team structure names ect.

Import individual players on free agent screen and assign to team.
