I can't take credit for creating it, but you're welcome to it. PM me your email if you want the jersey and cap files.

Hialeah Thoroughbreds (very famous, historic horse track there)

Key West Conchs (many residents call themselves that, and it called itself "The Conch Republic" when it briefly declared its independence in 1982)

Kissimmee Spurs (Kissimmee hosts rodeo championships every year. Its arena is called "Silver Spurs Arena")

Palm Bay Scrub Jays (Brevard County was once the most numerous area for the threatened Florida Scrub Jay)

Pompano Beach Beacons (famous Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse is there)

Tallahassee Warriors (Seminole tribe lived in the area, two battles of the First Seminole War were fought there.)

Boca Raton Mice ('Raton' means 'mouse' in Spanish)

Cape Coral Redfish (was known as Redfish Point before being called Cape Coral)

Fort Lauderdale Navigators (popular yachting destination, many yachts are built and repaired there)

Pembroke Pines Hurricanes (place has been something of a hurricane magnet the last 10 years)

Pensacola Jets (home to Pensacola Naval Air Station, base for the Blue Angels)

Winter Haven Spray (Winter Haven is known for its water skiing history at Cypress Gardens. It's home to the Water Skiing Hall of Fame. 'Spray' is the water that is thrown into the air by water skiers.)

Athens Groove (Athens is known for its music scene)

John's Creek Rush (Gold discovered near John's Creek led to America's first Gold Rush)

Kennesaw Engineers (Kennesaw sprung up as a community of people building the railroad, and was the site of the Great Locomotive Chase)

Savannah Specters (Savannah is built on Native American burial grounds, one of the most haunted cities in America)

Rome Cannons (Rome manufactured a lot of cannons during the Civil War)

Warner Robins Falcons (Nearby Robins Air Force base is one of Georgia's largest employers. Air Force Academy's mascot is the Falcons)

Augusta Eagles (Eagle is a hole-in-one in golf. Augusta National, home of The Masters, is there. Really, the minor league team that's already there, the Augusta Greenjackets, has, I think, a really cool, unique name)

Columbus Doughboys (Fort Benning is a large employer nearby, home of Doughboy Stadium. Doughboy is an informal name for a member of the army or Marines)

Macon Steamers (Macon was a major shipping area because of its position on the Ocmulgee River)

Sandy Springs Burbs (Sandy Springs has only been a city since 2005, and is basically a rich suburb of Atlanta)

Atlanta Zombies (Atlanta has become known as a hub for movie and TV production, especially horror and zombie movies and shows. The most notable is 'The Walking Dead,' but there are others. It has been dubbed the "Zombie Capital of the World")

Good name suggestions, but if you name Macon anything other than Babies, you have done a disservice to your league.

TOJ went with the local angle I look for, so I'll go silly.

Athens Gods
John's Creek Dawsons
Kennesaw Mountain Landis
Savannah Guthries/Plantations
Rome Built in a Day/Chariots
Warner Robins Redbreast
Augusta National/Masters
Columbus Corkers
Macon Doughnuts
Sandy Springs Burger Mashers
Atlanta Rhythm Section
