Problems Importing OOTP 20

I know I have successfully imported previous editions before, but having difficulty with today's purchase of OOTP 21 on my Mac. PLEASE realize I am a computer moron.
With OOTP 21, after clicking "Import OOTP 20" up pops "Select WORLD.DAT File from an OOTP 20 folder".
I have located (with some difficulty) a "World.dat" file from OOTP 20. Not sure how to load/transfer this file onto OOTP 21.
Multiple file choices appear in the OOTP21 box which appears requesting the "select WORLD.DAT File from an OOTP 20 folder", but I think these are all OOTP 21 files????
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need the World.dat file from the league you wish to transfer.

It will be located inside the .lg folder.

So if you had a league named "myleague" there will be a folder named "myleague.lg"

The world.dat file you need is the one in there. Select it and continue, the game will start importing your league.

Sorry but not seeing the .lg folder. Files range from "auto save" to "world.dat". But no .lg folder. Only about half appear with color, the other half appear in white. Some have info, others are blank.
Other thoughts???

This worked for me:

Go to import game then when the box asking you to confirm the world.dat file pops up click " up" once which took me to the game I wanted to import I clicked on that game then clicked to confirm world.dat
Finally it only succeeded when I gave the game i wanted to import a new name in 21 when prompted for the name of the game on the final screen you need to complete in 21

Thanks for your reply Swoboda. I tried your advice, clicked "Import", box pops up, hit "up" and "/OOTP Baseball21" is what appears. I click on this and the box displays multiple files, from "backgrounds" all the way to "world_templates". "World.dat" is not a choice. Am I missing something???

Dbl Click on the OOTPBaseball 21 folder, then Data, then a folder called "Saved Games".

Inside that folder will be your league folder as I described above. Inside that folder is the World.dat you want.

No, you have to import through each version. So into 17, 18, 19, & 20, then 21. You can do the imports using the Demo versions, no need to purchase.

Double check all your settings and everything after importing from that far back. You'll likely have no issues but there have been a few rule changes and such since then that you might want to double check on before you start your league after import

Find where you're saved game files are. That's where the folder ending in .lg will be found. Once you do navigate back when importing.

I'm sorry Bluenoser, but when I follow your steps by clicking on OOTP 21folder, then OOTP 20 world data...then I have an empty box. Sorry but I seem to struggling.
I appreciate your info and attempts to help. As extra info, I "backup" after every game from the drop down menu under "File". This is stored a "users" file which I am unable to locate with multiple search attempts. Something else I should be doing ??
Thanks again.

Is there not someone handy to you that can help you navigate the folders on your computer?

I'm on a PC, so not real familiar with Mac file structure.

Now I have really screwed up. In trying to troubleshoot my issues I went to "League Settings" then to "Database". In attempting to improve(?) my backups I went into "edit" the "custom league folder". Now when I try to backup the game, the system crashes! HELP!
