Team Baserunning

Anyone know how this is calculated?

I lead the league in stolen bases with 15 in 17 attempts, yet I am 15th in the conference in baserunning with a -0.6 score. I wonder if players that have no attempts are penalized for not stealing, because a couple of those players have negative individual scores (but one does not).

Not complaining here... just curious about how it works.

If it's like this:

It's separate from stealing all together.

Stealing bases is just one component of baserunning. 15 of 17 is quite good, certainly positive value, so it's probably the other component dragging down your overall score. Most likely it's just from trying to stretch too many extra bases.

It's not. They use BsR which does include stolen bases.

Thanks for the links. My biggest problem was letting Wade Boggs be aggressive. I had overlooked his strategy settings when I made some changes. He won't be trying to take an extra base anymore.

Is there a stat somewhere that records how many outs were made on the bases by a player?

Not exactly. The expanded batting stats shows UBR, which is a base running metric that excludes stolen bases.

Thanks, Orcin. I learned something from this thread.
