The Adventures of Sixto Lezcano
Sixto Lezcano on the '85 Pirates has been an adventure. He's hitting below the Mendoza line, but it hasn't stopped him from making his mark. He was DFA'd in May but because of injuries, he made a comeback. On hi 120th at bat he hit his first home run of the year. 4 at bats later, his second.
He was ejected and suspended for 2 games for arguing with the umpires. It was particularly funny because the image I use for him is him getting ejected in real life!! If anything else happens with him, I'll be sure to post it here. |

So, fast forward to 1986. He's still on the team and hitting .045. 23rd at bat BOOM!! Hits a 436 foot shot. Also makes a diving catch to preserve the victory.

Thinking back...he had a 'cannon' for an arm, right? Any OF assists?

He had 3 in '85, 2 in '86. He threw out a guy at 3rd with 2 outs in the 9th to preserve a 3-2 victory.
