Three Year Players becoming Free Agents?

I started a league with 2020. I imported the 1968 settings just to see what would happen (it was interesting...at least to me, lol). However, after the season was over, many of the players who'd only been in the league for 3 seasons like Jack Flaherty, Dansby Swanson, Juan Soto, et al, became free agents!

Why did that happen? What can I do to fix it? It's a pain going thru each one and putting them back on their original teams.

Can I make it so that nobody becomes a free agent (as it was in '68) or at least lengthen the time before they become one?

Game Settings > League Settings > Financials

There you can reset everything. Want the reserve clause? Check the appropriate box. Look over all the other settings too to make sure it's set the way you want it. Happy Thanksgiving to you too from a canuck who celebrates it in early October.
