Please get rid of the faded logos
I have posted this previously, but will get it here, too.
The faded logos under the text are terrible. Please unclutter the text and get rid of the faded logos. See May Screenshots for examples: League Pitching Leaders 13/05/06 SION Network 12/05/06 Contract Offer 05/05/06 SION Webcast 01/05/06 Last edited by Eugene Church; 05-18-2006 at 05:40 PM. |

I have to disagree with you, Eugene. I kind of like the faded logos, it adds some flavour to and subtlety to the screens.
Of course, like any effect, it can be overused, which may be the case here. |

I agree with you that it is overused in the new version. I just like uncluttered text. The faded logos make it hard to read the text. |

If you have player photos than they will go where the bold, cropped logo is. That is why the faded logos are there: to make sure a logo for the player is seen. I think it would be nice to have the option to turn player photos off in a way that would remove all cropped-logo-player-photo-replacements (like Markus said he will do for the SION Network screen). That way we'd only see the logo where the logo is supposed to be displayed and not where the player photo is supposed to be dispalyed also.
I do see your point about the faded logos cluttering things up, but, as I sort of explained above, I think a logo needs to go somewhere.

I like them too. But to be clear, for those that don't like them, there is no way to disable the faded logos? Previous versions wasn't this done with the 3d button? |

I expect there'll be a lot of comments about this aspect of the interface or that. It is the first version of the game in this form, after all, so there's bound to be a few rough spots or glitches or just differing opinions on what works and what doesn't. |

I said the same thing at first glance, but I think a big part of it has to do with the balloon looking logo's they have in all the screens. With some nice custom logo's I think it'll look much better.

I think they are ok but they just needed to be faded more. They are too dark.

Makes it too cluttered. Its already gonna be hard to read the screens, dont need anything else in em.

It seems that the main purpose of the faded logos is to identify that certain charts and boxes on the various screens belong to certain teams. Perhaps the same thing could be accomplished by just putting a simple combination of background colors (say, two colors alternating to distinguish different player-entries in the tables) under the text. It seems like it wouldn't be hard to "scan" each team's logo (game-assigned or custom) and automatically pick out the two most prominent colors to use for this purpose. Thus, if we were looking at a screen showing lineups for a game between the Blue Jays and the Orioles, one lineup chart would have the text appearing over alternating lines of blue and white; the other would be alternating lines of orange and black.
Yes, I know some teams use the same colors. I think this would still work most of the time, removing some of the visual clutter that seems to be bugging people and keeping the displays somehow related to the teams involved. |
