In the hopes of pleasing the owner's request to upgrade CF, the Arizona Diamondbacks have made the following trades:

This trade was to upgrade CF Jarrod Dyson. There are not a lot of CF's in the Majors right now. Pillar is a good addition to the team and a slight plus over Dyson, however, as of right now, the owner does not see Pillar as an upgrade. We may look again at the trade deadline depending on where we sit in the standings at that time. SP Marcus Stroman will definitely be useful in the rotation and will fit in the #2 spot, right behind Greinke. In addition, 2B Lourdes Gurriel Jr. will replace the departing Ketel Marte. The Dbacks also receive SP Emanuel Vizcaino, a 19-year old prospect who is currently rated 1/2 star, but has the potential to improve to 2 1/2 stars.

This second trade, third of the season, sends CF Jarrod Dyson to the Chicago White Sox in return for SS Tim Anderson, who replaces SS Nick Ahmed.

The Diamondbacks are hoping these acquisitions will help correct the early season woes.

After winning their last series against the San Diego Padres, the 2-5 Arizona Diamondbacks host the 6-2 Boston Red Sox in a 3-game series at Chase Field, including the Dbacks Home Opener.

With their recent acquisitions of SP Marcus Stroman, CF Kevin Pillar and 2B Lourdes Gurriel from the Toronto Blue Jays and SS Tim Anderson and CL Alex Colombe from the Chicago White Sox, the Dbacks are looking to defy the odds and play above .500 baseball.
