In the top of the ninth, Ford hit an RBI single.

In the bottom of the ninth, Jim Shellenback took the mound for the Rangers. The Yankees got a single but no more as pinch hitter Thurman Munson grounded to second to end the game.

The Yankees lost despite tallying 10 hits.

In the bottom of the first, Burroughs hit an RBI double. Mincher followed with a two run triple. McMullen mishandled a Billings grounded and Mincher scored.

In the bottom of the eighth, with runners at first and second and one out, Mel D Queen took the mound for the Angels and immediately walked Harrah to load the bases. Nelson hit a run-scoring single. Burroughs grounded into the 6-2 for the second out. Mincher then flew to leftto end the inning.

The Rangers won the game with a 14 hit attack.

In the top of the fifth, it was a run-scoring single by Harrah that increased the Rangers lead.

In the bottom of the fifth, Taylor got an RBI single.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Royals loaded the bases with nobody out. The Royals then scored two on a Schaal two-bagger to take the lead. An intentional walk again loaded the bases with nobody out. Taylor flew to right without bringing in a run. One down. Roger Nelson flew to center and then Maddox threw Scheinblum out at home to end the inning.

After six: Kansas City 3 Texas 2.

In the top of the eighth with one out, Tom Burgmeier took the mound for the Royals.

In the bottom of the eighth with one out, Paul Lindblad took the mound for the Rangers.

In the top of the ninth, Ford hit a one out single but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double. Kubiak then grounded out to end the game.
