Historical starting 1903, with minors, scouting, and dev engine.

It's actually really fun, and you essentially play it like a normal game, especially since all the "superstars" are coming in so early they are more or less the same as any other 80 potential guy.

Currently got a guy who only played in indy leagues come out of nowhere and shatter Ned Williamson's single season home run record at age 23, 9 years before babe ruth did it irl.

1938 Boston, Ted Williams debuted, want to experience roster shortages of WW2.

Before that I played 1904 Detroit Tigers.

My league has 2 divisions each with 9 teams from 1871-1875. Each team will play 82 games.

Fictional. Started in 2019, now in 2064/2065 offseason. Play as spectator/historian.

Fictional, but started as MLB back in OOTP4. League started in 1991, i sim the season and play the playoffs if i make it. Its currently 2245. It does take a while to sim now lol

I do play some Modern Era games and have a 1980s A's Franchise that i haven't imported into 19 yet.

Fictional league/teams with real, historical players from every era.

I have a real MLB and fictional league going. Which one I play depends on my mood...and whether or not I want to beef up my challenge mode numbers.

Ahhh, anyone remember the days when this type of poll would cause weeks upon months of bickering?

This game was MADE FOR fictional. It's good at MLB and historic and I obviously encourage people to do them, but if you've never done a fictional league, you're really missing out.
The customization on this game is unbelievable.

I run a 32 team league with divisions based on geographic locations, including world teams in places like Mexico, London, Japan, and the Dominican Republic.

It's also great because you have no idea who the names are and you don't see a guy like Altuve and KNOW he should be great. They're all new guys and you just have to trust you scouting department

Real MLB + MiLB affiliates, but fictional players. Usually start in 1990, sim for 6-7 seasons, then take over a team (...happens to be Cardinals this time around; usually go for a team with a solid enough budget to make some decent FA signings, but not so much money as to be able to dominate the FA market and field a roster of All-Stars... yes, looking at you, Yankees).

I wouldn't call this "Fictional" in the poll, though.

Looking at the poll, I had no idea how outnumbered Historical Players are by Fictional Players.

I can definitely see the appeal of Fictional Leagues (the whole "Sim City" aspect and all) but I'm drawn to real life superstars (Trout, Ken Griffey Jr., Frank Thomas, etc.) and the MLB franchises. There's just something about controlling the real thing. YMMV. That's what makes OOTP Baseball the best sports game on the planet; the only limit to how you can play the game is your own imagination.

Right now I'm running MLB with all independent and international leagues. But I will go back to running fictional. I prefer fictional play myself.

The way I play fictional is fictional teams, fictional leagues. I start in 1871 and sim to modern day.

This is essentially how I'm playing right now, but I hope to have my standard fictional league with custom uniforms up and running soon.

Historical starting in 1871. I make all the roster changes. Currently up to 1884. 2 World Series so far, both won by the Cleveland Blues.
