Valencia Spain and Valencia Velezuela just happen to be the top 2 teams in the league right now.

- Dissapointing extra inning loss to put my team at .500 after a promising 8-4 start.
- I am outmatched in pitching as my 6.35 ERA starter Frank loses to their 3.33 Coleman 6-1. We fall below .500 for the first time.

Melbourne finishes April on a high note with a shutout win from Jose Manzo(1-3), his first win of the season. With the win Melbourne is only 1 game behind first place Sydney.

May 1- In the first game of May, Melbourne loses a heartbreaker, giving up a 2 run 8th inning. Jared Alexander(3-0, 3.66) has a quality start but has a no decision.
May 2 - Jason Cornwell loses his 3rd in a row and falls to 1-4 on the season.
May 3 - Melbourne reaches a low point as we lose a game when we needed to sweep the series.
May 4 - Melbourne gets a shutout performance from one win Chris Frank(2-3, 5.24). Power slugger catcher Manuel Juarez(.235, 8 HR) is injured and is day to day.
May 5 - Melbourne doesn't get the sweep but wins the series with a 9 run offensive outburst.
The draft pool is revealed and RF Jose Gomez out of Mexico is the expected #1 overall pick.

May 6 - Melbourne gets their second shutout in 3 days albiet against another underwhelming opponent. We get back to the .500 mark.
May 7 - The Nationals go against a pitcher with a 2.56 ERA and lose 2-1.
May 8 - Bullpen fails us again as we lose in extra innings and lose the series.
May 9 - OFF
May 10 - Manzo improves to 3-3 on the season with a shutout gem. Jaurez gets both RBI's.
May 11 - We erase a 2-0 defecit to win 6-3. Grant gets his 8th save and we get back to .500
Current wild card standings. We are right on the cusp.

May 12 - - We complete the sweep against LA in a close win and hopefully are righting the sinking ship.
May 13 - - The bullpen rears it's ugly head again and we lose in extra innings after blowing a 3-0 lead.
May 14 - - Chris Frank gets his 3rd win and Juarez gets his team leading 9th home run.
