OOTP 17 HOTFIX patch available, version 17.4.37!

Important: This update is only for OOTP 17 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version.
It is NOT compatible with the Steam or Mac OSX AppStore version! The Steam update is available via the Steam client and the Mac AppStore version is pending review at Apple, which will take some more days.

Hey guys,

We have just released a hotfix for OOTP 17, version 17.4.37. It fixes an issue where teams did not sign free agents because they thought they had too many foreigners on the roster. This applied to all sorts of leagues. So, it is highly advised to install this patch! Another fix included is for the 2016 MLB roster set, some players on the international complex rosters had their rookie league stats counted towards major league stats. You will need to start a new game for this to fix this (cosmetic) issue.

Update Info: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Compared to the release version 17.3. the patch contains the following changes (carry-over from 17.4.36):
- Improved 2016 MLB roster sets (need to start new game for changes to apply)
- Greatly improved quality for included real MLBPA FaceGen images
- Improved simulation speed (dramatic improvements for some systems)
- Added a new quickstart "MLB 2016" which only includes the MLB plus the affiliated minor leagues
- Fixed bug where wrong players were imported automatically in random debut historical leagues
- Fixed problem with international leagues signing too many foreign free agents despite foreigner limit
- Fixed some issues in the historical databases
- Improved 3D gameplay bounces
- Improved player opt-out logic
- Fixed a bug that caused the Steam Workshop dialog to pop up after postponed games
- Fixed bug with special characters in directory path (could not save database file)
- Added HOF ballot years and induction pct to retired player lists (need to delete data/tables folder)
- Fixed financial issues with draft/intl FA budgets
- Fixed several small bugs and cosmetic issues

Hotfix worked! Continued at April 5th.

3x League MvP who was a free agent got signed April 23rd and the 4.5* reliever that was a free agent 4 years because of that bug got signed after like two weeks

I like the fact that the game warns you that there is an update available when you open it. What I would like to see, is an "UPDATE" button in the message box that would close the game and update it automatically instead of having to do that manually by coming to the forums.

Other than that, great support on the game! This is why we spend countless nights playing this game instead of sleeping...lol.

Question: is there any way to increase or decrease the frequency with which a single team acquires players of a certain nationality? I just brought the Havana Industriales into the MLB in one of my games and I'd like to set them up to where they continue to mostly rely on Cuban talent.

Just learning to play the game for the first time here. Bought 2016 version but didnt really play it much so picked this one up since it had the official MLB support.

Hi guys, I got a question regarding this hotfix. So I bough OOTP 17 off of the steam store today and did a few things while it downloaded. Once steam said it had downloaded, I initially got this message showing up.

I even would have Steam opened and this message would pop up.

I found there was a new hotfix for OOTP, so I downloaded that, all the base folders got added to my OOTP folder and I thought I was good to go!

But noooo, it was not gunna be that easy

I soon get to the start up screen and get this

Every time I click on the left option, I get a blank window and nothing shows up. So Can't do anything there. And the left option, I have not gotten a email or message on steam about a Serial number to complete the installation of the game. I have no ideas where to look either

None of this stuff happened back when I downloaded OOTP 16. I asked a friend if he got this stuff and he said nope. I tried unistalling and reinstalling the game but got the same thing. I am out of ideas and have no clue what to do. I just want to play this game. Please help

I'm afraid the same would happen with OOTP 16 because we did not change anything in this regard. You own the Steam version, so you can only update the game through Steam. The version from our site will not work for you. Please uninstall it. Then start Steam, open the Library, click on OOTP17 and then on the "Play" button in the Steam client.

in upcoming eligible players tab (HOF) .... all the hitters stats and pitching stats display ALL zeros. however the fielding stats are displayed.

Uninstall the hotfix or the game? I tried uninstalling the game already and that did not work. And I don't know how to uninstall the hot fix. Sorry I am being so...persistent, I just hate dealing with stuff like this for games.

edit: Found how to uninstall the hotfix but I get this message

I already have the game installed and I'm playing it with no issues. When I download this hotfix, it completes but when I try to open the file it says disk image not recognized. . .have never had this issue before. I've tried it twice.

Any ideas?
