I urge you or anyone else who finds errors in the schedules I've posted to let me know as soon as possible so that I can make the necessary corrections.

1910 PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE
Teams: Los Angeles Angels Oakland Oaks Portland Beavers Sacramento Sacts San Francisco Seals Vernon Tigers Schedule Characteristics: SCHEDULE type="ILN_BGY_G225_T6_C_" inter_league="0" balanced_games="1" games_per_team="225" start_month="3" start_day="30" start_on_weekday="4" Each team plays between 206 and 225 games. Teams play each other between 34 and 52 times during the season. Season starts on May 30 and ends on November 6. Double-headers on holidays - Decoration Day (5/30), Independence Day (7/4), Labor Day (9/5), Admission Day (9/9 - California), and Columbus Day (10/12) - and on most Sundays. Weekday games start at 3:00. Weekend games start at 1:00. Double-header games start at noon and 3:00. A typical (and ridiculously long) PCL schedule, with most series going from Tuesday-Sunday, although Los Angeles and Vernon occasionally play Wednesday-Monday. As with the 1912 PCL schedule , the wide discrepancy in games played is the result of Portland and Sacramento playing only single games at home on Sundays - all other teams play double-headers. The breakdown (away/home) is as follows: Los Angeles - 110/114 = 224 Oakland - 106/118 = 224 Portland - 95/111 = 206 Sacramento - 129/84 = 213 San Francisco - 112/113 = 225 Vernon - 105/117 = 222 Pacific Coast League 1910.lsdl

1941 ARIZONA-TEXAS LEAGUE
Teams: Albuquerque (NM) Cardinals Bisbee (AZ) Bees El Paso (TX) Texans Tucson (AZ) Cowboys Schedule Characteristics: SCHEDULE type="ILN_BGY_G132_T4_C_" inter_league="0" balanced_games="1" games_per_team="132" start_month="4" start_day="17" start_day_of_week="5" Each team plays 132 games. Teams play each other 44 times. Season starts on April 17 and ends on September 13. Weekday and Saturday games start at 7:00. Sunday and holiday games start at 1:00. Double-headers start at noon and 3:00. Printed schedule (The Sporting News 3/13/1941) indicates that the league adopted a split-season format. The split most likely occurred after the games on June 23, and the league probably held its all-star game in the three-day gap from June 24 to June 26. Arizona-Texas League 1941.lsdl |

As an FYI, but many of the published schedules for the minor leagues did not include All-Star Game info, even when the leagues played such games. In some cases leagues adopted an All-Star Game during the season, changed the originally scheduled date, or played two (or more) games. At present many of the All-Star Game formats used can't be recreated in OOTP, but in the interests of completeness it may be worth noting any All-Star Game(s) dates.
I started a project to research the basic details of as many minor league All-Star Games as I could find through the back issues of The Sporting News. I can post the results thus far if there's interest. |

I'd like to see one for the 1921 Texas League.

Raw text version attached below. This one is a bit odd; according to the schedule as published, clubs were slated to play 159 games. But one club (Wichita Falls) played 160 games. So this might be another case of a schedule revised during the season.

I think it might be easiest for me to just input these text schedules in game and save them, considering my poor typing and computer skills. I'll try that. It's only 100+ series.

1921 TEXAS LEAGUE
Teams: Beaumont Exporters Dallas Submarines Ft. Worth Panthers Galveston Pirates Houston Buffaloes San Antonio Bears Shreveport Gassers Wichita Falls Spudders All teams located in Texas except for Shreveport (LA) Schedule Characteristics: SCHEDULE type="ILN_BGY_G159_T8_C_" inter_league="0" balanced_games="1" games_per_team="159" start_month="4" start_day="15" start_day_of_week="6" Each team plays 159 games. Teams play each other from 19 to 28 times. Teams play from 76 to 81 home games. Season starts on April 15 and ends on September 18. Weekday games start at 3:00. Weekend and holiday (Decoration Day - 5/30) start at 1:00. Double-headers start at noon and 3:00. August 5 game between San Antonio and Wichita Falls starts at 10:00 a.m. The league was effectively split into two divisions: Galveston, Houston, Beaumont, and San Antonio (South) and Shreveport, Dallas, Ft. Worth, and Wichita Falls (North). That was a common practice for scheduling purposes - the NL and AL had unofficial east and west divisions for decades. What's unusual here is that the clubs actually played more games against their "divisional" foes. The league, however, did not adopt a divisional format. Instead, it played a split schedule, with the first half probably ending after the games on July 2 or July 6. This is the schedule as printed in The Sporting News (2/3/1921), with the following match-ups in the final series (9/16 to 9/18): Dallas at Shreveport; Ft. Worth at Wichita Falls; Galveston at San Antonio; Houston at Beaumont. Texas League 1921.lsdl But the schedule had an added wrinkle: the team that was ahead in the standings on September 10 would get to decide where to play its final series of the year. As a result, all but the Dallas-Shreveport series were flipped from the published schedule. This led to a greater disparity in the home-road split, with teams now playing from 76 to 84 home games. That switch is reflected in the following alternate schedule: Texas League 1921 (2).lsdl

Attached to this post is a plain text file containing the list of minor league schedules published in the weekly edition of The Sporting News. The file lists the year, league, TSN issue date, and page number, where the schedule can be found. There are 1,406 entries in the list, with the years ranging from 1892 to 1967.
If you open the text file in Wordpad or other word processor you can then line up the tabs so that the data forms nice columns. Hope folks find this helpful. Last edited by Le Grande Orange; 04-10-2016 at 06:56 PM. |

Grab Bag text file schedule pack
The attached zip file contains an assortment of schedule files for a selection of leagues in the same raw text format as used in the previous text file schedule packs. A total of 58 seasons are included. The specific leagues and seasons are as follows: American League (1): 1900 California League (2): 1980, 2004 Carolina League (3): 1963-64, 1966 Eastern League (2): 1963, 2000 Florida State League (2): 1993, 2004 Midwest League (1): 2003 South Atlantic League (3): 1963, 2000, 2004 Southern Association (3): 1938, 1941, 1961 Southern League (13): 1964, 1973, 1982-84, 1992-95, 1998, 2000, 2003 Texas League (23): 1921, 1926, 1928-29, 1938, 1941, 1963, 1967, 1972, 1974, 1987-96, 1998, 2000, 2004 Western International League (2): 1953-54 Western League (3): 1894-95, 1908 Note that the Western International League schedules as published did not balance; teams had varying numbers of games scheduled overall. I presume this was some problem with the schedules as created by the league itself. |

1887 INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION
Teams: Binghamton (NY) Crickets or Bingos Buffalo (NY) Bisons Hamilton (ONT) Hams Jersey City (NJ) Skeeters Newark (NJ) Little Giants Oswego (NY) Starchboxes Rochester (NY) Maroons Syracuse (NY) Stars Toronto (ONT) Canucks Utica (NY) Pent-Ups Schedule Characteristics: SCHEDULE type="ILN_BGY_G108_T10_C_" inter_league="0" balanced_games="1" games_per_team="108" start_month="4" start_day="30" start_day_of_week="7" Each team plays 108 games. Teams play each other 12 times. Season starts on April 30 and ends on October 1. Weekday games start at 3:00. Saturday games start at 1:00. Holiday double-headers (Queen's Birthday (Canada) - 5/24; Decoration Day - 5/30; Dominion Day (Canada) - 7/1; Independence Day - 7/4; Civic Holiday (Canada) - 8/15) start at noon and 3:00, except for split double-headers (home-and-home between Jersey City and Newark and between Syracuse and Oswego, and double-headers on July 4 where Binghamton and Oswego alternate between playing Jersey City and Newark), which start at 10:00 and 3:00. No games on Sundays. The published schedule (Toronto World, March 16 & 17, 1887), is filled with errors which initially stymied my efforts at making this file. I eventually realized that there were a lot of misplaced commas, so a line that might say that teams would play "May 2, 7, 28" actually meant "May 27, 28," or else "June 12" should have been "June 1, 2." A bigger problem was that Toronto's games at Hamilton weren't listed at all (Hamilton's games at Toronto were printed twice instead) and only two of Syracuse's games at Hamilton were listed. As a result, I had to guess where to plug in the missing match-ups. After all that, the schedule is still something of a mess. Rochester, for instance, plays its last game on September 21, then has to wait around ten more days for the rest of the league to finish. Gaps during the season of four or five days are not uncommon. Furthermore, Baseball Reference lists twelve teams in this league (the extras were the Scranton Miners and Wilkes-Barre Coal Barons). I don't know whether these clubs were mid-season replacements or late additions. Even the name of the league is unclear: the World called it the International League, whereas Baseball Reference calls it the International Association. International Association 1887.lsdl
