The historical database only goes up to 1980 at the moment. I'll be adding a couple of seasons per week, so it'll be a while before we get to 2009.

yeah, it would before the Caps field any rosters of quality

A week or two, and I'll take the mid 80's Caps with K Hatcher, Langway, Murphy and Stevens on the Blue Line

The historical database goes up to 1980? I tried games in 1990 and 2001 and there were no players on the teams - therefore it crashed. I think it didn't load the database right in my case. Apparently the only thing that works for me right now is the 2012 default year.

Yeah, there are no players in your 1990 game because until now no players were put in the database who started their NHL careers after 1980.

Oh ok I get it. The rosters are there before 1980 but not after 1980 in the historical mode.

Exactly. So maybe in the next beta build we'll be up to 1984 or something like that ;-)

I hope that they get further than that. I got this so I could basically play the historical mode with my Bruins....Wanna play the 1992-93 team.

When it comes to the final release in September, you'll be able to play any season from 1947 to present day.

I think this is pretty obvious but just want to make sure- if I start a historic game in whatever year, sim all the way up to present day, then into the future the draft classes / players will be randomized- basically allowing me to continue on (as in I won't have to end a historic career at present day)?

In the final version, of course

Yeah, it's not doing that yet, but it will by the time the database runs the whole way through to the present day.
