Playing the 1969 season and Manual

Hi,

I would also like to play the 1969 season as the World Championship NY METS!!! I love the Mets, can't help it even though they are lousy for a long time.

How do I get a 1969 season started and what is the best method to learn about all the color codes meanings on the players and learning the game.???

Start a new historical game set in 1969 and take over the Mets. It's as simple as that (well, not really, but it is easy once you know how to play the game itself). Look up historical gameplay in the online manual.

From the main screen start a historical game and select 1969. create your GM and manually assign yourself as GM of the Mets. I recommend logo and uniform files for 1969 from ootpmods.com. Reds1 has a set that you can find in his sig and if ashanteqwarrior finishes the NL set soon No Pepper/AW set will be preferred.

Thanks Game for the info, I have my season starting in a few minutes. I made sure I am GM only and I didn't want to be the commisioner for this game. I kept everything historical and see what I can come up with. After this, 1962 METS!!!!

Quick question,

I have Gil Hodges controlling the lineup but I am controlling all the trades and stuff, I need to keep an eye on Donn Clendenon. What do you suggest?

also, is there a search for a player in the game?

Is he in the minors to start the year? The only think I can think of is to manually check on him from time to time.
In the top right corner from any screen you will see the ? and the magnifying glass. The magnifying glass is the search feature. just need one letter but I suggest doing as may as you can. For Donn Clendenon i would just type in donn cle. So you are letting the Ai play out your games? I ask because you should be able to find many of the 1969 parks. MLB the show from ootp mods.com. Gambo early & historical parks if you want real and do an advanced search for user JRP.

Oh My Goodness, Played the first game of the year with the 69 Mets and Seaver has a 1 hitter with 2 out in the top of the 9th inning and Wills gets a hit but the next batter retired. Mets end up winning 1-0 in bottom of the 9th . Wow, this is typical of many of the games Tom Seaver pitched. He is my favorite Met of all time. At least he got the win.

Oh man, I have to get these mods and figure out how to get them or install them as I should say, cool

are you using real uniforms? here are a few Mets. These are from Reds1 set.

Hey, does this forum or anyone ever consider creating a Teamspeak channel for this game? Might be a good idea to set one up for free and it would be a place for others to chat etc.

I have never heard of teamspeak. A chat room would be great as long as we kept OTD out of it. BTW for parks you need to be in Commish mode.

Teamspeak is a third party program that you can host and even set up passwords if necessary. We use it all the time for FPS games like Battlefield 3/4 and other games. What happens is you get a good group of people on it and you can actually set up different channels and players could join to ask for extra help. TeamSpeak - TeamSpeak 3

I could always ask a couple of the guys who run a TS3 server to open a channel for us and perhaps players could then visit the channel to ask questions or chat. Other than that, you would have to set up a server and run a TS3 server and keep it going 24/7

By the way, what about the add on central from within the game?

Game - if you downlaod the ts3 program I can show you how to use it, real easy and I can give you an address to communicate

Add ons central to me is best for modern. There is a FG file that has basically all FG's and photos but mine are a carry over from 12 and I just add updated FG's. I no longer use real player photos. the all in one had parks, FG' files player photos and uniforms/logos. The complete historical face pack i believe in photos, not sure. PM Lukasberger he will know.

most of the 1969 park photos are not in the AIO or on add ons central to my knowledge. JRP has the best old time parks. Not positive on how many of these were from 1969.

hi again game, i am download ing the 2013 all in one and will reinstall to see how it looks. the more I mess around with the game the better. I am actually getting interested in past season from the 60's and 70's. I still have to find my favorite way to play. I might start taking control of the substitutions as well.

The only thing I let my MGR control when playing out games is the defense. I am terrible with holding runners, shifting, etc. I might let the AI control subs in my 1901 White Sox game but I control them in my EBL vs MLB 2019 White Sox.
