Gary Carter is not only a good hitter, but he was one of the better fielders at catcher during his era..yet with the awesome rotation why am I getting a 5.11 ERA? also none of the players I have ever come close to the season or career stats of their cards

How does your starting pitching rank in your conference? How many home runs has your staff allowed compared to the rest of the league? What are the factors for your home park?

Bonds, Trout & Betts are the only productive batters. Get rid of Sale & Kershaw |

The ERA at 5.11 is last in the conference, 137 home runs, and the ballpark is 1.000 for every factor, distances and are
LL 320 LF 340 LC385 CF 405 RC 370 RF 330 RL 315 wall height is 8 feet all around

The issue with your team is the starting rotation. None of those pitchers will be above average in a perfect league, as they will all give up too many homers. As others have said, you should start by replacing the lefties with RHP that have at least 65 movement, but eventually you need to replace all of them to be competitive. You could temporarily lower the home run park factor to .900 in order to limit the damage, but you will also hit fewer home runs.

The problem is finding upgrades in the current auction house. When was the last time that you saw a 96 Smoltz, 96 Scott, 94 Clemens, 96 Martinez (or any other RHP upgrade) offered for anywhere close to the last 5 average?

Ballpark changes must be made at the beginning of a new season.
you need to go to: Main -> Perfect Team Home Screen -> Customize Team wait for that to load.... then click "customize your ballpark" in the middle section to the right of your logo also... be sure to hit <enter> after every entry for it to save it. Platoon with your lineup for better offensive results but your biggest problem is your rotation. None of your starters fit on a championship Perfect Level team. If you want Kershaw, you need the 96 OVR. Sale is OK in the pen as a lefty specialist and to put in for mop up duty. Your RH starters can play in Perfect Level but will most likely never win big as a group. It is going to be difficult in the current '19 AH situation to get what you need.
This is just my opinion and as such means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Having 5 low endurance RPs isn't helping your situation either. 5 man bullpens are doable, but not with only 5 RPs that each have low endurance. Especially with your SPs getting shelled, your RPs are bound to be waaay overworked/exhausted a high percentage of the time.
Move Sale and Seaver to the bullpen, drop 1 of those current RPs and find 2 other starters using the advice already given in this thread. Then sell DeGrom and Kershaw and find 2 more SPs. Keep Feller. |

finding a decent starting pitcher is nigh on impossible on my budge. I soldSale and have Kershaw on the market. Then I picked up Max Sherzer which was probably a mistake but I cannot find any affordable starters with a 64 or above movement.
Pappyzan why move Seaver into the bullpen when he has more than adequate movement and his other stats are real real good? Also, is there anything I can do with the Global Strategies that also could help? Update: was able to grab a 95 Matt Harvey with a movement of 79...big improvement methinks

Another question, what about a 4 man rotation since I don't seem to be able to find a 5th starter with 65 or better movement?

I think you are better off with a 5-man rotation set to "start highest rested". That will make sure your good pitchers are at their best while reducing the number of starts made by the fifth guy.

problem is, my 5th guy is the best one with movement...another question (sorry for being so curious, hope I'm not driving anyone nuts...lol) was moving Scherzer 97 to bullpen and adding high movement 90 Gary Peters with an iimpressive 83 to movement to my rotation?
