My perfect team started 8-2 and has gone 10-26 since.
I don't buy packs for my Perfect team, but feeling like I needed to change my luck, I bought two packs and pulled a Lindor and a perfect deGrom. Already had Lindor, but man, I needed deGrom. I lead the league in runs scored and have a positive run differential, but am 10 games under 500. edit.....Aaaaaaaaand deGrom gets shelled. Of course. I have led the league in LOB 4 out of 5 seasons. I am an aggressive base runner and have a great OBP but can't score. Also, I am on pace for breaking an MLB record for the team grounding into the most DP's in a season.
How do you improve that??? Last edited by sharknut; 02-27-2019 at 11:11 AM. |

Yikes, the AI decided to put in a LH thrower at both 3B & SS in extra innings. And I've got Pujols right there at 1B who could have played some terrible, but right-handed, 3B and SS. Could have been a disaster, but luckily it looks like no balls went his way and I won.

The Relief Pitcher designation makes this pretty satisfying. Also makes me wonder, anyone know what Babe Ruth's pitching ratings are? He's gotta have at least one card where he's a pretty decent pitcher. |

I feel your pain. 7th-best OPS (4th-best slugging) in my conference, 14th in runs scored. So frustrating.

My team is doing wholly meh in Diamond now, 36-44 as of now. But all my pains will end now - I just used the proceeds of a James Paxton sale (there are still fools out there who buy that sucker) for a new pack that washed a J.D. Martinez onto my roster. The only thing is - I will have to play him in left, replacing Cespedes, who has not hit anything in a while... Between Votto and Goldschmidt I have already used up the DH spot.
Between Martinez in left and Pujols in right, this ballpark is now Doubles Country. Ah, it will be FINE.

The Yaks are still stumbling uncharacteristically a few games over .500. I am trying to figure out how I PO'd the RNG's. In other news my FTP Polaris team opened 3 packs the past 2 days from achievements and pulled a Sale and a DeGrom. Those are huge additions to the Polaris team that was already in first place. Last but not least my FTP Inferno have rallied from a 10 game under start to 3 games over making the teams ahead of them squirm a little.
Good luck the last half everybody! Have fun!

I don't know why I even bother looking at Stuff. Keeping the ball in the park and playing awesome D are enough in the Perfect Leagues.
That said, I've got the 3rd best team in the league, but I'm 4 games back in my division. 100 win WC berth, here I come! Last edited by DonkeyKongSr; 02-28-2019 at 09:37 PM. |

A closer look at my pitching dominance. This is with Diamond Buster Posey at catcher, who is only a 87 defender. But he's got an OPS+ of 132 and a Silver Slugger last season, so I'm not planning on going back to a defensive catcher anytime soon.

Why the heck are my hunchbacks 4-10 against the worst team in the division?

thats the most frustrating thing when that happens
My perfect league team just finished their last series vs the last place team in our division(19 games), we only lost 3 times...but we are under .500 vs the rest of the league sooo now we are in trouble lol |

Some of those worst teams have quirky rosters (high defense, high speed, etc) and perhaps your team just doesn't match up well against it. Take a look before the next series (if there is one) to see if there is anything you should adjust to.

That might be part of it. My team tends to do best against a box of donuts.

It's cool when you discover a card you haven't seen before and you think...hmmm I think this guy has a chance to be a great undervalued buy and they CRUSH it in Perfect. Then the same card becomes available for your Diamond team and you snatch him up.

Let's check in with The Tucson Sidewinders! Sporting a 90-49 record they are the class of AC Central Division in Bronze .239, and they're only two games off the best record in the league. With a magic number of 6 with 23 to play, it's probably not premature to review the season thus far.
The biggest story offensively is Hack Wilson's big bounce back year, he's leading the AC in homers and is hitting over .300, producing 5.1 WAR through the course of the season. Shohei Ohtani has been another surprise, with 30 jacks and providing a lot of value platooning across the defense. Phil Rizzuto has had a really good offensive season as well. Outfield platoons of Lonnie Smith/Pete Rose and Garry Maddox/George Vukovich (He's my immortal bronze) are continuing to produce offensively and defensively, while Jose Vidro has had a disappointing season and is splitting time with Chipper Jones at 1st. Tom Tresh has batted his way to starting in third and Jeff Cirillo rounds out the defensive lineup as a steadily improving SS. Late season addition Fred McGriff looks to install some bite into my DH spot, but time will tell on that. Pitching wise, Midseason addition Wes Ferrell has taken the #1 spot on the staff and has been promising to say the least, while Bob Ojeda is cruising in the #2 spot. Kerry Wood is having a great season, leading the AC in wins and Ks, though sadly he's not in consideration for the Triple crown with that merely serviceable ERA. The big change is in the Bullpen, where converted starter Vic Raschi has been a dominant closer for the Sidewinders. His success spurred management to overhaul the pen, and now converted starters Mark Langston and Bob Turley have also been added. Langston has been so successful he's moved into a co-closer role with Raschi at the moment. So the Tucson Sidewinders are awash with Bronze success, much like last season. Here's to hoping the playoff outcomes are different. |
