PBP-Knukleball ??
It seems to me that the PBP has Way to many references to the Knuckle Ball, especially for pitchers that Rarely or ever really used the "Knuckler"
For Wilhelm Etc fine---But for guys like Virgil Trucks and many others that rarely or ever used the pitch--they are throwing one every other pitch (slight exaggeration ) Thanks Gil The Ancient One |

This is because the game assigns pitch types randomly for all pitchers. So quite a number may have the knuckleball as one of the pitches they throw. And this would explain the frequency of mentions in the PBP. I'm an advocate of using the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers as the basis for a historical file that will assign the real life pitch types to players according to history.

Real pitch repertoires were included in OOTPX. Not 11?

I knew there was some kind of problem. I'm just going to use DMB's real life pitch data. Easier to access. They used the resource mentioned amongst others.

OOTP11 does include accurate pitch types for historical pitchers. It has been confirmed.

Okay, sorry for the misinformation then. I only owned OOTPX very briefly before OOTP11 was released. But is the real life pitch data accurate for ALL historical pitchers in the entire database? Or is it only for well-known players?

PM BMW for details. He's the one who added the data.

Just last week I got the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers book at Ebay. Ton's of data of 100's of pitchers actual pitches etc.
PLUS...there is this Neyer/James site that gives a great deal more Pitcher's pitches data as updates along with a few corrections. Great Stuff. The Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers Also contains data about purchasing the book. Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. Learned about this from a friend at another baseball gaming forum. Essential stuff. OOTP 11...what a blast for baseball fans...
