Created players retiring after 1 season

I started a historical game in 1970 with a redraft, used commissioner mode and I created 25-30 European stars to add to the draft pool. When I went to the initial draft, none of the players was included in the available player pool (Question one: is there a way to change this?). I noticed another thread where someone had a similar issue with imported players not being available to draft in their redraft league.

The created players were available as free agents after the draft, so I manually did a supplemental draft to allocate players to each franchise. I set all 3 of the fields in the player edit screen to the chosen team, and from the contract fields I gave each a 3 year, 50k contract.

During the season, the sim worked fine (player usage, trading, stat accumulation, etc), but then when I moved to July 1 of the 1971 season, every single one of the created players retired, even 21 year olds. (Question 2: did I miss something when setting the players up that caused this?)

More general question: Is there a way for me to create international players and add them to the global player database for more general use in historical games? So for instance, I add Alexander Maltsev for 1970 and he is 21 years old/still developing. If I wanted to create a 1975 redraft sim, right now I would have to recreate Maltsev (and all the other players) 5 more years into their development curve. Or, if that needs to be done on the developer side, can you expand the available international players from the current few (Kharlamov, Yakushev, etc) in a future update? I can send a list of suggested players to make that process easier!

Did you have player development set to recalculate after each season? That would retire any created players, since the game doesn't have career data for them and views them as retired. If you're going to create fictional players in historical, you'll need to put that setting on FHM Development.
