Extremely complex MLB style schedule request

Hello again. I am looking for a schedule request for my MLB league.

30 teams, MLB setup (554/565 ordered East-Central-West)
162 games
Starts first Sunday on or after March 26 with 3 games, all of them the first games of Sun-Wed NL Central series
Ends first Sunday on or after October 1 in the AL, first Monday on or after October 2 in the NL
27 weeks, one longer than normal MLB

AL East

19 games against each division opponent (76 total, 9-10H/9-10A, all 2 and 3-game series)
7 or 8 games against each AL Central opponent (36 total, 3-4H/3-4A, all 3 and 4-game series)
8 games against each AL West opponent (32 total, 3-5H/3-5A, all 2 and 3-game series)
3 games against each of 6 interleague opponents (18 total, 0H/3A or 3H/0A)

AL Central

18 games against each division opponent (72 total, 8-10H/8-10A, mostly 3-game series)
7 or 8 games against each AL East opponent (36 total, 3-4H/3-4A, all 3 and 4-game series)
9 games against each AL West opponent (36 total, 3-6H/3-6A, all 2 and 3-game series)
3 games against each of 6 interleague opponents (18 total, 0H/3A or 3H/0A)

AL West

19 or 20 games against each division opponent (59 total, 8-11H/8-11A, mostly 3-game series)
8 games against each AL East opponent (40 total, 3-5H/3-5A, all 2 and 3-game series)
9 games against each AL Central opponent (45 total, 3-6H/3-6A, all 2 and 3-game series)
3 games against each of 6 interleague opponents (18 total, 0H/3A or 3H/0A)

NL East

16 or 17 games against each division opponent (66 total, 8-9H/8-9A, mostly 3-game series)
7 games against each NL Central opponent (42 total, 3-4H/3-4A, 2 to 4-game series)
7 or 8 games against each NL West opponent (36 total, 3-4H/3-4A, all 3 and 4-game series)
3 games against each of 6 interleague opponents (18 total, 0H/3A or 3H/0A)

NL Central

16 games against each division opponent (80 total, 7-9H/7-9A, all 3-game series except for season openers described above)
7 games against each nondivision league opponent (70 total, 3-4H/3-4A, 2 to 4-game series)
3 games against each of 4 interleague opponents (12 total, 0H/3A or 3H/0A)

NL West

16 or 17 games against each division opponent (66 total, 8-9H/8-9A, mostly 3-game series)
7 or 8 games against each NL East opponent (36 total, 3-4H/3-4A, all 3 and 4-game series)
7 games against each NL Central opponent (42 total, 3-4H/3-4A, 2 to 4-game series)
3 games against each of 6 interleague opponents (18 total, 0H/3A or 3H/0A)

Notes on Interleague, All-Star Game, and Offdays.

Interleague play will take place in one series on a mid-May weekend, on the 4 weekday periods immediately before the All-Star Break, and on the Fri-Sun period immediately before and immediately after the All-Star Break, which will last from Mon-Thur for all teams with the ASG on a Tuesday in mid-July. By "weekday period" I mean either Mon-Wed or Tue-Thur, depending on how the rest of the schedule fits in. Because there are 7 interleague periods and only 6 interleague series for most teams, some teams will have each period in league play. Fri-Mon league series before Tue-Thur interleague series are allowed, unlike in the real MLB.

Offdays are permitted in between the first and second games for the first 3 weekday series for each team not covered by the "Opening Day" rule described at the top of this request. That is, if the schedule starts March 31, the April 8-11, 15-18, and 22-25 periods are allowed for NL Central teams' in-series offdays, and April 1-4, 8-11, and 15-18 for other teams. The only offday on April 23 will be in between two games of an NL Central series; otherwise offdays are only Mondays, Thursdays, the All-Star Break, and the Tuesdays in the periods listed above.

Specifics are good, but there is a point where they become more hinderance than helps. Here is what I think I can do.

Half-week rather than full week longer than typical MLB, start with NL Central games a days early, have some NL games a day after AL end.

AL East
19 games against each division opponent (76 total, 9-10H/9-10A)
6-7 games against each AL Central opponent (32 total, 3-4H/3-4A)
9 games against each AL West opponent (36 total, 3-6H/3-6A)
3 games against each of 6 interleague opponents (18 total, 3H or 3A)

AL Central
19 games against each division opponent (76 total, 9-10H/9-10A)
6-7 games against each AL East opponent (32 total, 3-4H/3-4A)
9 games against each AL West opponent (36 total, 3-6H/3-6A)
3 games against each of 6 interleague opponents (18 total, 3H or 3A)

AL West
18 games against each division opponent (54 total, 8-10H/8-10A)
9 games against each interdivision opponent (90 total, 3-6H/3-6A)
3 games against each of 6 interleague opponents (18 total, 3H or 3A)

NL East
19 games against each division opponent (76 total, 9-10H/9-10A)
6 games against each NL Central opponent (36 total, 3H/3A)
6-7 games against each NL West opponent (32 total, 3-4H/3-4A)
3 games against each of 6 interleague opponents (18 total, 3H or 3A)

NL Central
18 games against each division opponent (90 total, 8-10H/8-10A)
6 games against each interdivision opponent (60 total, 3H/3A)
3 games against each of 4 interleague opponents (12 total, 3H or 3A)

NL West
19 games against each division opponent (76 total, 9-10H/9-10A)
6-7 games against each NL East opponent (32 total, 3-4H/3-4A)
6 games against each NL Central opponent (36 total, 3H/3A)
3 games against each of 6 interleague opponents (18 total, 3H or 3A)

Six rather than seven interleague half-weeks. No wrap-around series nor mid-series offdays.

Why is the extra interleague half-week so hard?

Realistically, no. The biggest problem is the asymmetric and odd-number-including configuration. Current MLB is extremely difficult to work with. Something like two divisions of 8 teams is a whole lot easier to work with because it can be controlled to have all division, interdivision, or interleague games at the same time. Odd numbers of divisions and odd numbers of teams are much more troublesome since there must be mixing of game types at any given time.

Just because the games work out evenly does not mean the series fall out easily from that. I build by series. With the difficult configuration there cannot just be any hodgepodge of 2-, 3-, and 4-game series. I described what I could piece together.

It is the extra half-week period just in terms of total length. Again, everything needs to break into series pieces that I can use for construction, and the best reasonable approach is one half-week longer than current MLB. Keeping the interleague concentrated to 6 rather than 7 series blocks is part of keeping the similar series types together in chunks as much as possible so there are fewer moving pieces than the several hundred individual series.

Replace "easier" with "feasible", then you have it.

Do you want what I think I can do? If you do not want it, please let me know so I do not maintain that task as a priority.

Not to jump in where I don't belong but when you are asking someone to do something for you that you obviously can't or won't do yourself you might want to be a little less obnoxious and demanding. GMO doesn't have to do these schedules for us but he does and I think you could be a little more appreciative. Unless of course you are just trolling which is another matter.

gmo, you are a far bigger man than I could be. The guy who initially requested these does *not* deserve your service for his treatment of you. I didn't know that you got paid for this, which allows him to be so f'n entitled and a total jackass.

I thought I had seen it all on this forum...but the OP wins the prize.

Thank you to gmo for all your hard work and your perseverance in the face of people like this. You make this community wonderful.

I'll second that and add my thanks too.

I'm new around here and quickly realize how gmo is NICE enough to do this for us. As far as I know, he isn't on the ootp payroll or recieve any compensation for his efforts other than our heartfelt thank you. That he takes his own personal time and do this for us, we should be thankful. I know the few schedules he has created for me has really increased my enjoyment of this awesome game.

We realize you just wanted your schedules but please go about it asking for them instead of demanding and putting deadlines on when he gets them done for you.

And now we can all be love and hugs lol.

Re-read what you wrote from your second post on and tell me you don't see how much of a jackass you were towards gmo.

In all honesty, I checked to see if this normal procedure or a blip on the radar...because I was legitimately pissed off. It seems, to me, that it was the latter. But gmo still deserves a severe apology...it's one he'll never ask for, but he deserves one.

I know I wouldn't want to be the person that pushes someone like gmo away from the community, because of how I treated them. And while everyone says to themselves that it's only one time...how many one times until it's the last time?
