Expansion Schedule

I expanded in the second season and added two teams to the NHL. I put my team in the Eastern Conference. In two seasons I have yet to play a team in the regular season from the western conference. Bug or user error?

well you are looking for western conference teams right? The league schedule should tell you who is playing when.

Haha, I understand that. I don't have any western conference teams on my schedule and haven't for two seasons. I'm in the offseason now and am headed home to download the patch. Does the patch fix this?

Schedule Generators are very hard to write, there is a reason real schedules are mostly genetsted by hand.

At the moment our is very basic to allow expansion. Whenever we have time we will further work on it.

Sebastian while you are here have you noticed anything in the fictional leagues where you create a league and then expand immediately and then it asks you to protect players you dont have because you are in a draft??? Or should we just start with rosters and go from there?

Did you put the two expansion teams in the Eastern conference or Western conference?

I just did an expansion and put them into the default conferences suggested (Western conference) and the two expansion teams play a number of Eastern conference teams. So perhaps the issue if you made it a 18-14 alignment, or maybe 17-15, which perhaps the game can't properly schedule as, that's a pretty peculiar alignment.

I put one in each conference. I may have moved the teams from what it suggested. Can I move it back now in the commissioner mode to see?

Not necessarily. See my post. I did a test expansion to turn the league's conferences to 16-16 and the schedule seems to work fine with the expansion teams playing teams from both conferences.

No, there's no editing of league structures.

But yes I would imagine having conferences of 17 and 15 might be the reason for the wonky schedule.

I don't really understand what you mean. Are you asking if something will be a problem or is this a problem you have run into?

And if you are going to start a fictional league and expand right away why wouldn't you just start with the number of teams you actually want?

Good Point Cole but I like the 84 game idea and want more than 26 teams in it. I posted my problem over in the bug support page (with pics showing what I am seeing) I think my secondary issue is how to set protected players.
