Superpesis - The Finnish Major League (1945-)
In real life, I'm a fan of Finnish Baseball (called Pesapallo) but since there's no way to simulate that in a computer game (unless I make one) I decided to do the next best thing and to start in 1945 and play OOTP using made up Finnish teams and play out the history. Eventually, this will supplant my 400+ dynasty as my primary league. So hashtag big steps here. Here's the current setup of the league: There are 12 teams. For the first season, we played a 110-game season so I could get my bearings. We'll probably roll with that for a few years. I'm playing with custom Finnish names (so better than stock) and the league will have Americans, Swedes and other select internationals as time goes on. Right now, the only international FAs will come from Germany, because it's a Pesapallo country (albeit of Finn expats.) We'll see how the future evolves and where the league takes us. |

I built a stadium for the entire major league to use, but wanted it to be more like a Pesapallo stadium so there are weird dimensions and it's all dirt.
A Pesapallo stadium is differently mostly because the rules of Finnish Baseball require the ball to bounce, hitting it out of the field is a foul ball not a home run. |

Awesome! As a finn and a fan of pesäpallo I'm loving this idea. One thing though, I think you mean Helsinki Puumat, right?
I will for sure follow this league and it's evolution. |

The new single-season record for HRs in a season is at 59, after Janne Tammilehto broke the previous record of 55 set in 1989. Prior to that year, no one had hit more than 49 in a season. He has one game to hit #60. We play 132-game season at present.
Vimpeli had a terrible year, but Tammilehto hit his 60th home run on the last day of the regular season to became the first man in Finnish baseball history to do so. Last edited by darkcloud4579; 09-14-2017 at 11:49 AM. |
