Dugout Wizards - Historical 80s league, moving to OOTP 17 & has openings

The Dugout Wizards league, which began in 1979 is switching over to OOTP 17 for the 1986 season (we are at the start of Spring Training).

Dugout Wizards has featured full minor leagues with real minor leaguers since the league started and will continue to do this now that this has been implemented in OOTP 17. The draft takes place in June so you can stock your short season & rookie league teams right out of the draft.

With the switch to OOTP 17 we have eight openings:
Houston Astros
Minnesota Twins
Montreal Expos (NL champs)
New York Yankees
Philadelphia Phillies
Seattle Mariners
Texas Rangers
Toronto Blue Jays

A bit more information on the league.

Owners & staff are real (I change owners when the team historically changed hands)
Owners determine budgets
Finances & team cash are tweaked after the World Series each season to keep salaries and budgets in-line with historical levels
Rule 5 draft is on
We use Slack for chat/messaging
All players, including foreign-born players enter via the draft
Free agent compensation (Type A/B) is on
Draft picks can not be traded (but players can be after they are drafted)
Currently we use in-game draft, but may go back to OOTPU (which we used previously)
You may use cash to balance trades/salaries

I try to keep the league as close to what real-life GMs would be dealing with as possible within the confines of the game, reasonable expectations on the GMs, and my own time constraints. The main goal of course is to have fun - that's what we're trying to do here - so I don't want to overburden anyone with complex rules.

We welcome all potential GMs, regardless of online league experience. We have a solid core group of guys in place, most of whom have been around since the league's beginning.

In addition to the teams in the first post, the Cincinnati Reds are also now open. They are a very solid team with some really good young players (Dwight Gooden & Kevin Mitchell to name a couple).

I have been in this league since the beginning and I have been in several of the Commissioner's past leagues in a few sports. All of his leagues are a lot of fun and this is no exception. The league sims at a good speed during the week and it is great to see the stars of the '80s in action!

I have been with this league as well as several others Joe has run. He is an excellent commish and is easy to communicate with. This is a good opportunity for anyone looking to get in on a historical league.

Have some interest in the ,Jays. Quick question, by in-game draft, does that mean everyone sets their list and then you sim it?

Currently yes, though I am likely going to start using one of the online utilities to handle it.
