Suspension
This is pretty cool. I have never had one of these happen. I will keep an eye on this and see what happens

The problem is that in RL you would be able to move him to a "suspended list" or something like that and get the roster spot back, but in OOTP you're stuck playing a man down for a little over a month.

Dang thought that we are innocent until proven guilty .... guess that's no longer the case anymore. lol I know in reality at least through the media its your guilty and need to prove innocence.

Had the same storyline with my current MLB Quickstart..The shortstop of Oakland A's (Japanese i do not remember name) had the same story and when the court came up he was found guilty and quit baseball
By the end of the year another came up the Yoenis Cespedes was lying about his age...DNA tests etc. Fun to watch but bad luck for the A's Storylines are improved with this version in my opinion

Convicted
Well, it kinda sucks and took a a little away from the conviction when someone else posted that he had the same thing but here is what has happened in my game. I am curious now if he can come back after a 5 year absence? Is it possible?

Judging by the fact that it says, in the article, that his career is over, I'm going to assume that the game is simply going to retire him.
You can probably bring him back 5 years down the road yourself in Commish Mode, though. |

I wonder if that is always the outcome (for any situation really) or if its a 50/50 deal where the other is 'obviously' the opposite.

If it isn't 50 / 50 it should be.

Bring him back in 2 years by having him implicate some of your division rivals' top stars as the real masterminds! You talk, you walk.

Suspension
Can't retired players come back on their own from time to time after retiring?

I don't think so, but if guys can leave for wartime (in historical games), surely they can theoretically come back from this. Right?

I do wonder for ANY suspensions that are given out. Can the player or could WE in our case appeal the suspension for the player like they do in real life. IF the player appeals then he can keep playing but if he doesn't appeal then he would be on suspended list right away. This includes drugs and legal issues or anything else.

My understanding is that it breaks down like this in real life: for players suspended for various on-the-field infractions, the suspended list is used. The players continue to count against both the active and 40-man rosters. If the player is suspended due to PEDs, he goes on the restricted list. In this case the player no longer counts against either the active or 40-man roster until reinstated. For players convicted of a crime, they'd most likely go on the ineligible list, which works the same as the restricted list.

Mike Vick managed it in the NFL (but he was a bit younger than 35 when he was released).

le grande orange.
I thought suspended list also means loss of a roster spot on the 25 man roster .... I guess they revised that rule ??? Always thought it was a constant rule where a suspended player for drugs was a loss of spot. |

What he in jail really for 5 years? I thought it was shorter than that.
What about Plaxico Burress? He was in jail for what was it...2 years? I probably should have looked this stuff up before I posted, run less of a risk looking foolish. :P
