Never expected to see this
So I'm in the first year after my 1980 replay, where the app has generated some rookies. And I drafted a promising 23 year old shortstop and he's good enough to play on my active roster. Then, first couple of games, I notice he keeps coming up when I filter the list to see only pitchers.
So I finally remembered to check out his ratings for pitching, and he's already a 3 (I use the 2-8 scale for everything) with potential for 6 in some pitching categories. Amazing. I can't decide if I should develop him as a pitcher or not. He's got better overall potential as a batter. But the idea of a strong hitter playing well as a pitcher is attractive too. Advice? Here are his ratings. |

Tough call, but his low Groundball % (48%), his two pitches, low stuff, and stamina rating make him seem like an average reliever, which seem plentiful in iOOTP. If it were me, I'd develop him as a 2B and enter him in the game to relief a few games here and there and see if he develops into a setup or closer role.
I'd be interested either way. Last edited by Supernovae; 08-26-2011 at 09:51 PM. |
