Milwaukee Rain and Cruddy Relievers

First off, loving iOOTP...playing out my games and keeping extra stats in an excel sheet is a ton of fun and making the wait for OOTP 12 a breeze (so far). Couple questions/comments though:

I'm playing as the Brewers and so far (i'm 15-22), EVERY home game has had the roof closed because it's raining outside. Is this el nino in Milwaukee? 18-20 games is still a relatively small sample size, and this obviously isn't really affecting the gameplay much, but...just wonderin'.

Speaking of...I've read here and elsewhere some issues people are having with relievers. I am one of those people. I play out each game, and I'm sure I'm a terrible pitching coach, but ever since I started playing this game (around v.9 I think), I don't think I've EVER had an effective bullpen. I'm a firm believer in sample sizes...but I just wanted to throw this out there. Here are some numbers I've had for my bullpen so far this season (each row is a different pitcher, the bottom row is the totals). My concern is regarding thse godawful BB/9 & K/BB columns.

Code:
  IP K/9 BB/9 K/BB HR HR/9 ERA FIP
17.7 6.62 7.13 0.93 3 1.5
14.7 6.75 8.59 0.79 5 3.1
 0.7 13.50 27.00 0.50 0 0.0
13.7 4.61 7.24 0.64 1 0.7
15.0 4.20 3.60 1.17 4 2.4
 6.7 8.10 8.10 1.00 0 0.0
17.0 6.35 6.35 1.00 3 1.6
 3.0 3.00 6.00 0.50 2 6.0
14.3 10.67 7.53 1.42 4 2.5
17.7 8.66 6.11 1.42 1 0.5
------------------------------------
120.3 6.88 6.81 1.01 23 1.7 6.21 6.43
My starters' K/BB ratio is kinda low but still within reason (2.07)...and I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the code, but the feeling I get is that the relievers are rated AS IF they were starters. I mean most would agree that the standard reliever is not as good a pitcher as a bottom-of-the-rotation-starter (otherwise the reliever would BE a starter), but their numbers end up being comparable because they're only throwing ~1 inning at a time, so they can let it rip a bit more than a starter, and they get the benefit sometimes of favorable matchups (LOOGIES, etc). But my relievers here seem to be pitching as if they're throwing the first of what will be 6-7 IP at a time (like a starter would). Plus they're incapable of throwing strikes. Make sense?

Basically what I'm saying is...something is WRONG with the MR in this game...or one of you guys needs to tell me what the hell I'm doing wrong as a manager.

Other than that though, I'm having a great time, as I said. I'm sure it's exciting for Markus and the dev(s) to have the game out there finally, getting these great reviews. It truly is a great accomplishment and hopefully helps put extra resources elsewhere in the company...or extra food in your mouths. Whatever!

I've got bad news for you. I also play out almost every game as the Brewers and the bullpen is awful. I mean awful. The wheels completely fell off the wagon in my season and I dragged to 65-97. Horrible.

I bamboozled the AI with a bunch of offseason trades and it has gotten much better in year 2, but I still haven't solved the bullpen issue. I think Axford and Kinzler (who somehow became good) are the only actual Brewers left in the 'pen for me, though.

Good luck!
