Historical League?
If I start a season in, say 1930, can I continue to buy seasons and play with actual rookies each year appropriate to baseball history? I'd like to play out an alternate baseball history, but continue each year with the same team but having amateurs show up as they did for the rookie draft each season.

No.
No. In iOOTP, once you progress past 1930, all of the players will be computer-generated fantasy players. Still fun, and it's amazing how they come to seem as real as the originals, but not what you want.
I believe that the desktop version allows you to progress past 1930 and get rookies and free agents as they appeared historically, without your buying any additional seasons. |

We made a significant change to our historical database structure in iOOTP 2012 update #2 which opens up a lot of new opportunities. I don't know if we are ever able to handle your idea (due to the in app purchase model) but we sure will look into it.

Thanks for the replies, guys!
I hope this is something you can implement going forward - it would certainly create an incentive to purchase the historical seasons... For me, all of them. Why does the IAP model create a problem? I'd say the other big feature I'd be looking for is online play. I do that with Ootp13, but to be able to play on my phone would be so much better. |
