Looking for theme ideas
I've heard of players using different theme ideas for each team they own. Right now, on my two teams I have one where I go pack only, and one where I go AH only. I was thinking of having a team be speed and defense or all power. What interesting and fun theme ideas have you guys used?

I thought it might be fun to do an all-defunct team. I would call them the Heartbreakers.
You would have guys from the Braves (Boston and Milwaukee!), Athletics (Philadelphia and Kansas City) St. Louis Browns, Washington Senators (twice), New York Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers, Montreal Expos, and of course, the Seattle Pilots (who has that Jim Bouton card???). Am I missing anyone? Oh, and whatever 19th century guys you can scrape up. Some pretty good players there, but you would be at the mercy of the AH. |

I tried doing guys with huge power in a small park, but it didn't seem to make a difference. I loaded my staff with good groundball pitchers with high movement (i.e. Dennis Martinez), and they still got shelled in silver.

I have an all-1990s team. It started out as only cards in the '90s, but I've expanded to to anyone who played in the '90s but they have a card outside of the '90s (i.e. 2000 Bagwell).

I have a "Michael" themed team. Only players named Michael, Mike, Miguel, or Mickey are allowed (exception for Giancarlo "Mike" Stanton, as needed another silver cost player).
Its been pretty fun in bronze (and made it to silver the second season) but stuck now where all my upgrades are historical diamonds 10k+pp each |

Thinking about converting one my F2P teams to be made up of only non-HoF players but no Live players (over time).
Right now, that team is in Gold, so as I acquire non-HoF players and non-Live players either via pack or AH, I would have to keep them and get rid of the Live players. |

We had a running joke in our office a few years ago, when just about every Yankee pitcher's name ended in "A". So, a theme team where every player's name ENDS in A.

still ripping packs hoping to pull the Homer Simpson card course, you'll still need more players for the 25 man roster.... wish they would have finished out Burn's original list, cause that would have been 9 more names... he called out Honus Wagner, Cap Anson and Mordecai Brown before Smithers cut him off.... (and who the heck was his right fielder if, as Smithers said, he's been dead for 130 years... that would put his death year in 1862... lol) |

Scioscia is a silver but he's definitely not cheap. I think I bought him once around 2000 pp. Everybody else is far more expensive. If you buy this team, I'd happily follow you if you make a dynasty thread about it
