Rule 5

I hope this isn't answered somewhere that's I've missed, but I had a Rule 5 question.

Are there any changes being made to the Rule 5 draft to improve it?

Things such as...
- AAA and AA phases?
- The option to offer players back to their origonal clubs if you don't want to keep the player in the majors?
- Implimenting the 90 days on the 25 man rule (so you can't just stash a guy on the DL as soon as they get hurt), which carries over to the next season if need be?
- Lastly, It costing money to draft these players (50k and 25k on the return)?

Thanks in advance for a response

I believe the only aspect that you have mentioned that is "in" is the 90 days on the 25-man rule. The others are still out.

I think the only one, other than the 90 day rule, which should be a must, is the ability to offer the guy back to their origonal club, since that is the most commonly practiced thing with the Rule 5 draft.

I agree. I second the motion.

Is there a cost to offer a player back to the original team in the minor league phase?

no.

and BTW, player's chosen in the minor league portion dont have to go back for any reason.

and technically, it doesnt cost to send them back in the bigs either. it costs to draft them (50k) and they get a refund if the player is returned (25k).
