Were not having as much fun as the Frogs...
Series tied at 2. correction from earlier. I missed Cy vs Maddux in Game 1...That game went to the Green Sox Cy. Round 3 of CY vs Maddux Warbirds send Maddux (23-6, 2.03) vs Green Sox Cy (24-1, 2.23) Confused? I am Good news is that if Cy wins all 4 head to heads the Warbirds will win in 7.

P404: Naturally...
...Huntley and RealMadrid will play a game 7.
Game 6 turned out to be a complete dud for the Red Raiders, as Rube Waddell was rocked for 5 runs in a mere two-thirds of an inning. El Blanco piled on against long reliever Vida Blue to secure the victory, 8-3. The Red Raiders' best chances to close out the series have come and gone (Schilling in game 5, Waddell in game 6), so this looks like a blown 3-1 lead and another Perfect League Series loss for Huntley on the horizon. But hey, stranger things have happened, so we'll keep our fingers crossed...

Wrong team this time. Cy is 3-0 in the series. 2 for Green Sox and 1 for the Warbirds. Walter Johnson (20-5 2.66) vs Live DeGrom (No stats) 0-3, 5.09 in playoffs. hmmm...Might be some strategy going on here i am not aware of. Looking ahead it will be the 4th Cy(Warbirds) vs Maddux (Green Sox) game. Everything is lined up for home sweep for a game 7 PL title!?!

That was arguably the funnest (so fun, I will even eschew proper grammar) PL series in recent memory. The sheer amount of cheese and non-cheese strategy was staggering.
Then, I approached G7 completely conventionally (betting that Scottsdale would think that's the last thing I would do). Red Ruffing went in and dominated for 7 IP. That was his first start all season, but he was my only starting-type pitcher that was at full stamina. A 2-RBI triple by Norm Cash and a sac fly by Barry Bonds, all in the 1st inning, was the only scoring in the finale. Scottsdale's 100 Walter Johnson and TOTD Clayton Kershaw matched my 100 Red Ruffing and 100 John Smoltz pitch for pitch after the 1st inning. Here is the lineup that my pitchers held scoreless in G7: 1 - 99 Roger Connor 2 - 100 Josh Gibson 3 - 100 SE Zack Wheat 4 - TOTD Miguel Cabrera 5 - 100 Ty Cobb 6 - 100 SE Ken Griffey Jr. 7 - 100 TOTY Alex Bregman 8 - 100 Wade Boggs 9 - 100 Ozzie Smith As for end-of-season loot: Pitcher of the Year: 99 Hal Newhouser (welcome to the squad, bub) Great Bats: Bonds, Appling, Ozzie, Cash (welcome to you as well) Reliever of the Year: 100 SE Clayton Kershaw (and to you, good sir) ____ So, folks, are we throwing in the same lot for next week? Any interest in getting some/all of the Old Timer 5 back together?

Congratulations (and a fun read)! We're now tied up at 9 perfect titles. I'd be interested in getting together again, but considering how late it is, it will have to be next week, I imagine.

Sure, why not? I'll add you two as friends right after the long-sim game 7 is finished (no way am I checking my transactions to break my heart any earlier than necessary!).

P404: Huntley v RealMadrid, Game 7
Of course it was a 1-run game.
And of course we blew it.

OK, I added you and Mr. Frog. Surely if there's only 3 of us, we won't all 3 end up in the same division, right?!

Steelport fell in the LCS to their hated rival Lisle Beer Drinkers in 5 games. They had our number all week, and I was very frustrated to lose to them. I'll be glad to not have them in a league with me tomorrow.
Blitzkrieg made their second perfect WS in the last 5 seasons, and once again they fell short, losing to the now 8-time PL champion San Dimas Wyld Stallyns in 6 games in a battle of music-themed team names. They fail in their second attempt to complete the full set. The quest for #oneforthemiddlefinger continues. |

OK, I have added to Friends List:
jenazu (old timer, Evergreen Forest Raccoons) JasonC23 (Huntley Red Raiders) macjacks (macacks, San Angelo Warbirds) If pappyzan or jackgoboom (or Magus with his PL champ Steelport squad) wants in, the more the merrier. A mini-whale league of our own, starring Geena Davis, Madonna, Rosie O'Donnell, Tom Hanks, and Free Willy.

wtf is happening? Is this real life? The Warriors are back to back Champions at Perfect, beating way better teams on the way to get there. Wow, this is incredible.

The Denver Bears lost in 7 games of the Divisional Series, but finished the season on a very good note. Cy Young notches his 9th POY. And Freddie Freeman is named MVP
