Eddie Plank was hurling and Arturo Aguirre keeps kicking in runs - AND he got his first homer of the season. Brooklyn beat the Beaneaters 7-2 for their fifth straight win. WP - Eddie Plank (4-1) LP - George Winter (1-3) Record - 10-5 Brooklyn is in a 3-way tie on top of the NL, with the Reds and Pirates.

Cy Young couldn't do much with such a lack of support. Between a lack of scoring a 3 Brooklyn errors the Superbas lost to the Phillies 3-0. WP - Alberto Durango (2-0) LP - Cy Young (3-4) Record - 10-6 Brooklyn is now in a 3-way tie with the Reds and the Giants, a game behind the Pirates.

They made a late run but fell short, losing to the Phillies 3-2. WP - Tully Sparks (3-1) LP - Cy Young (3-5) Record - 11-7

Eddie Plank pitched to his 6th win and Cale Bernard hit a ball over the fence... but he also left the game with an undiagnosed injury. That would be a big loss. Brooklyn beat Philadelphia 7-2. WP - Eddie Plank (6-1) Save - Del Mason (1) LP - Tom Fisher (1-4) Record - 12-7 Back in 1st, tied with the Pirates and Giants.

It took 14 innings but Cole Crawford's 6th hit of the game put Brooklyn ahead in what would turn into a 6-3 win over the Phillies. WP - Ken Davis (2-0) LP - Len Swormstedt (0-1) Record - 13-7 Now it is a 2-way tie as the Pirates fell a game back.

It was zero-zero until the 9th when the Phillies finally got to Eddie Plank (and the Brooklyn defense) to beat the Superbas 3-0. WP - Doc McJames (3-4) LP - Eddie Plank (6-2) Record - 13-8 The Giants and Reds also lost and the Pirates won so it is back to a 3-way tie between Brooklyn, Pittsburgh and New York.

Sam Crawford was named the NL Player of the Week. He hit .542 this week while crossing the plate 7 times.
Chick Stahl of the Philadelphia Athletics won for the AL. Vandercook Lake topped their AAA Power Rankings. Brooklyn fell a spot to #4 (2nd in the NL behind the Giants... who they start playing tomorrow.)

A strong outing by Cy Young and Sam Crawford's 2nd homer o the season led to a 3-1 win over the Giants. WP - Cy Young (5-5) LP - Scott Williams (1-4) Record - 15-9 Brooklyn leads with the Giants and Pirates trailing by a game. Then the Superbas had two days off while the Pirates only had one... and they won, so they trail by a half game.

Eddie Plank pitched well but he was undone by 4 Brooklyn errors and a Frank Corridon collapse in the 8th. The Cubs won 7-3. WP - Addie Joss (4-4) LP - Frank Corridon (0-2) Record - 15-10 Brooklyn still leads with the Pirates and Reds trailing by a half game and the Giants back by one.
