Cy Young was named NL Pitcher of the month for May. He went 7-0 with a 0.92 ERA while striking out 37.

Jack Pfiester was named NL Rookie of the month. He went 3-1 with a 2.92 ERA and 24 strikeouts.

Ricardo Martinez, Vandercook Lake, won the batter of the month award for his AAA league.

Ken Davis, Vandercook Lake, won pitcher of the month.

Chris Peck, Portland, was batter of the month for his A league.

Ed Lang, Portland, was pitcher of the month for the same league.

Eddie Plank pitched a beaut but wasn't around for the decision.
