Jimmy Sheckard went 4 for 5 with 3 RBI. Ricardo Martinez collected 4 RBI in his first game with the big club.

There was no scoring until the 8th but Brooklyn managed to pull off a 4-0 win over the Cardinals.

Pat Moran came up hobbled after legging out a triple. Prognosis is unknown.

5 errors led to 7 unearned runs as the Giants beat on the Superbas 13-3.

Otto Hess had given up 1 earned run so far this Spring. He gave up 6 today.

Socks Seybold hit a home run and Ken Turner was seen heading to the trainer's room after his two innings of work.

SEVEN errors by Brooklyn. Combine that with a meltdown by Ken Davis and lacklustre hitting and the Superbas fell to the Beaneaters 9-1.

OPENING DAY!

The Superbas opened the season at home in Washington Park and while Eddie Plank was not at his best, it was still enough as they edged the Phillies 5-4.

Pop Foster went 2 for 4 with the first Brooklyn home run of the year.

Not only did Happy Townsend shut down the Brooklyn offence, but he also knocked in 2 runs himself.
