Pop Foster hit his league-leading fourth home run and that was the only thing that got to either pitcher in a Cy Young / Rube Waddell classic duel. Young ended with a four hit shut out, striking out three Pirates! Waddell kept Brooklyn to only three hits but still fell 2-0. WP - Cy Young (4-3) LP - Rube Waddell (4-3)

Owner Mike McIntosh decided to give me some more concrete goals. They are:
Achieve a Winning Record this season Improve your team Stolen Bases this season Acquire a Hometown player Keep building your team up, in order to reach the playoffs in the next 6 seasons Hmmmm.... I hope to make the playoffs sooner than that... The one I really have a problem with is the stolen bases one. My stolen bases are low because it isn't a priority for winning games. Maybe that 'Howetown player' can be a speed demon...

TRADE
To AMERICANS Joe Parker John Hopkins Frank Schulte Martin Jennings Frank Roth To SUPERBAS Kyle Anderson Alfredo Suarez Jose Turbides With the injury to Aguire, we could use some shoring up at second, and the owner will be happy as Anderson is a Brooklyn boy, as well as being a defensive wizard. Frank Shugart was sent to AAA and Ken Turner was called up. Turner is joining the bullpen.
